Our groundbreaking for The Refuge Utah’s new campus was more than the start of construction. It was a celebration of the people, partnerships, and shared vision-making, a safer future possible for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Last week we were honored to attend and help facilitate the groundbreaking ceremony for The Refuge Utah new expanded campus in Utah County. Stout is excited to work with HomeAid Utah and other community partners in building the new facility, which will provide more safety and resources for survivors of domestic violence in Utah County.

We stand united with UCASA and the State of Utah in saying: sexual assault is never acceptable at any degree, under any circumstance.

We stand with survivors. We support you, believe you, and hear you. You are not alone, and we will always be here for you.

Together, we can create a community where survivors are believed, supported, and treated with dignity and compassion.

Abuse can take many forms, including emotional, verbal, sexual, financial, digital, and psychological abuse. It can look like controlling who you talk to, monitoring your phone, taking your money, isolating you from friends and family, threatening you, or repeatedly making you feel afraid.

You don’t have to wait for physical violence to take what you’re experiencing seriously.

If something doesn’t feel safe, you deserve support. You deserve to be believed. You deserve options.

Domestic violence is about power and control—and recognizing the signs is an important step toward safety.

This new campus will provide emergency shelter, transitional housing, therapy, and essential services for individuals and families as they work toward stability safety, healing, and a brighter future. Through domestic violence and sexual assault.

This is more than a groundbreaking. It’s the beginning of a new chapter of hope, restoration, and community. ❤️
