Thursday was my last day at Chapman University. 🐾

For the past two years I have worked at Attallah College of Educational Studies supporting teacher candidates as they prepare for the rigorous California Teacher Performance Assessment (CalTPA), a requirement to earn their teaching credential.

After a 34 year career in public education, I was honored to return to the university where I earned my Master's degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction. Helping to shape the future of our public education system has been my passion. Now I will be dedicating my time to my upcoming campaign, and to my current work as Trustee on the Orange Unified School District Board of Education, the district where I started and ended my career. 🍊🧡

It is an honor to give back to the university and school district that shaped me. I will keep showing up to support public education and the dedicated educators who make the difference. 🍎

Always so proud to present to Classified School Employees at our OUSD School Board Meetings. It was an honor and privilege to present to CSEA Chapter 67 President Esteban Villa and his team last Thursday night. Thank you to ALL Classified School Employees! School Bus Drivers 🚌, Food Service Staff, Maintenance, Operations, and Facilities, Information Technology, Risk Management, Purchasing and Warehouse, Payroll and Fiscal Services, Librarians, Instructional Aides, Bus Aides, Behavioral Specialist Assistants, Clerical, Secretarial and anyone else in the Classified Service. You ALL rock it on a daily basis and are very much appreciated! 🧡🍊

This popped up in my FB Memories from 2023...

I was honored to be acknowledged by my alma mater, and the Donna Ford Attallah College of Educational Studies.

Since 2024 I have worked as Literacy Director, supporting teacher candidates as they prepare for their CalTPA state credential assessments.

With a lifelong career of 34 years in public education, 2 more on the Orange Unified School Board and and 4 years working in higher education, I have seen how a teacher can change the trajectory of a student's life. 🤩

There is nothing more important than the role a teacher plays in a child's education! Teachers make the difference. 🍎
