Founded in 1979, The Sheepfold ministry provides abused or homeless mothers with children shelter, refuge and hope for their future in Jesus' name.

The ministry provides a Christian home and resources for mothers suffering from abuse or homelessness to provide for their families and make a new future for themselves. The staff is also knowledgeable about Domestic Violence issues and can provide training to identify and find help for DV victims. Please contact the office or see the website for online resources.

Can you believe it? Christmas is popping up all around us. Every store you go to has their reindeers and stockings out and ready for the season! Here at the Sheepfold we provide a joyous and Christ-filled Christmas holiday for the every women and child staying in our homes . We are able to do this with the help of individuals and companies who generously donate gifts or participate in our Adopt A Family (AAF) program.

Adopting a family means providing a portion of the gifts a family receives Christmas morning. When you call or email you will be provided with information, which includes, an AAF number (to protect the family’s identity), ages, sizes and gift suggestions from a family’s Wish List.

The deadline to drop off the unwrapped gifts for the AAF program is December 4, 2026. This allows us enough time to organize, wrap and transport the gifts to the homes for Christmas morning.

I have so much to be thankful for and I give my thanks to God for bringing me to the Sheepfold. Through everything in my life He has been right there with me, strengthening me and pulling me through it all. I’m very thankful for my children, whom I love with all my heart. God sent them just at the right time in my life when things were getting bad and could have gotten worse. They were my wake up call.

I have been at the Sheepfold a month now. I am learning a lot about myself and working on the things in my life and heart that have caused me to end up at a shelter. I’ve chosen the wrong kind of man my entire life. I now realize that I got my example of troubled men from my father, who was abusive and toxic to our family.

I have really enjoyed the Bible studies we do every day. It is in those Bible studies that I have learned that the Lord is the model of how a man should love an care for me and my children. I have been growing in my relationship with the Lord and it has brought me so much peace. I truly want to seek the Lord and find out what His will is for my life. I know that as I seek Him through prayer and with the guidance of my House Managers, I will discover the good works that I have been created for, like the Scripture says.

Whether you're a returning volunteer or hoping to serve during the holiday season for the first time, this is the perfect opportunity to learn how you can make Christmas extra special for the women and children we serve.
During the orientation, we'll walk through everything you need to know about this year's Christmas season, including volunteer opportunities, important dates, and how each event will come together. Those who attend will receive priority sign-up for the volunteer opportunities and service areas that interest them most, giving you the first chance to reserve your favorite ways to serve.

We like to celebrate birthdays here at the Sheepfold. Our House Managers try to make each birthday as special as possible with games, a cake, decorations, and so much more. The house is decorated to the hilt from our donated “Birthday Boxes”, ensuring that the house is covered in décor for the desired birthday theme. Even the birthday cake flavor is chosen by the birthday boy or girl and is designed and baked by the House Manager. Gifts are selected from the assortment of new items in our warehouse that have been donated through the year.

We believe it is God’s desire to celebrate each life that comes to the Sheepfold. It may be the first real birthday celebration they have experienced, and we know the Lord wants every mother and child to know that their life counts and they are a blessing. The Sheepfold Staff would like to say thank you to our many donors for the part you play in bringing joy and excitement to the moms and their children on their birthdays. They are extremely grateful for the things they receive, but our ultimate goal and prayer is that each mom or child will receive Jesus Christ and experience the new birth of salvation and then they will have two birthdays to celebrate!

When a mom requests to be baptized our hearts are filled with joy. A relationship with our Lord Jesus is our highest goal for all of our residents both big and small. The Sheepfold serves each family the hope that they will receive the love of our Savior, and begin a life long journey as a child of God.

Here is Irene’s story:

On the day I was baptized, I also dedicated my son to the Lord. I wanted this day to be special for both of us, and it truly was. I couldn’t stop smiling. They joy I felt in my soul was tremendous. I had never experienced anything like that in my life. My son and I have now begun a new journey in life and with Jesus. Knowing that the Lord will be with us and will not leave us, nor forsake us, gives me great hope.

I come from a family of non-believers and now, because of me, my family has a chance to get saved, and my son’s generation will learn about the love of God. I truly believe that God has great plans for me and my family, and I’m very thankful! Thank you Sheepfold for putting Jesus first in all that you do! – Monica, Sheepfold Mom

I came to the Sheepfold very broken hearted. I applied to the Sheepfold program after speaking with a friend, who recommended the program to me. At that point I had no one in my corner to help me and nowhere to go. I gave them a call and went through the interview process.

I got accepted into the program, and felt like was able to breath for the first time in a very long time. The Sheepfold staff has been so helpful to me. My children are doing well and they seem to be very happy, which makes my mother’s heart happy as well. I feel like I’m actually becoming the mother that I have always wanted to be.

The daily Bible studies and attending church have brought me back to my first love- Jesus. I now have a new outlook on life, a new direction and a great sense of purpose. I’m looking forward to what the next few months bring for my family. I know that Christ has great things in store for us. Thank you Sheepfold for everything! If I could write Fran Lundquist, Sheepfold Founder (now deceased), a letter it would read something like this…

Dear Miss Fran,
I want to thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for so many people-including myself. It is due to your faithfulness to the Lord’s call in your life, my days look brighter and are now full of hope.

I didn’t think I would be able to say that two months ago. My days were dark, everything seemed dark. My friends and family had all turned their backs on me and my son. We were basically homeless. All doors seemed closed to me except one, and that one door was to the Sheepfold program. I am eternally grateful for the Lord opening that door to me and my son. Thank you for being such a courageous woman of God.

Now, me and the other mothers here with me can start a new life and have strong new beginnings. I am so grateful for my new friends and support system. I am truly blessed. There will never be enough words to describe my thankfulness and deep appreciation. When you started the Sheepfold, I don’t think you knew that you were starting the catalyst for moms like me to have a second chance. If you were here I would give you the biggest hug! I was scared and didn’t have anywhere for me and my daughter to go. I have a past history of drugs and being in an out of prison. I have finally found sobriety after 20 years and I am profoundly thankful to the Lord for that. Child Protective Services called to tell me and my daughter, who I hadn’t seen in 4 years was about to go back into the system. I had lost custody of her due to my drug use. CPS wanted to give me a second chance, which I truly see as the Lord working in my life and hers.

I began to panic because I didn’t have a stable home at the time, because I was about to get kicked out of my apartment due to not being able to pay the rent. I really wanted my baby girl back, but I needed help. So, I started calling shelters and the Sheepfold had an opening. The Sheepfold staff have made us feel so comfortable, loved and cared for. Everyone at the Sheepfold has been so great to us and have made me and my daughter feel safe and supported.

Since being at the Sheepfold I have maintained a steady job while going to school, we attend church regularly and I have gained back full custody of my daughter, which has been the greatest gift of all. Our daily Bible studies have taught me to put my trust in God and believe that all things will work out for our good. I have also learned to trust people again. The Sheepfold has been a huge blessing to me and my family. If it wasn’t for the home they gave me , I wouldn’t have my daughter back. – Antoinette, Sheepfold Mom
