Funny video. I'm sure most of you wish you could drink coffee or tea from a BIG cup, right?! πŸ’ͺβ˜•οΈπŸ˜„ (This guy is a professional barista from Germany who owns a cafe. Many of his videos show him playing cute jokes on people and also show how he makes coffee. He travels all over the world learning and teaching about coffee.) https://fb.watch/dD9LKyQ2L9/

Hi! How's everyone doing? I hope you're all staying safe and enjoying your summer with iced coffee or iced tea! 😁

Here's a wonderful video about Sami, a deaf Starbucks barista and accessibility advocate who helped with the concept of an accessible and inclusive environment that was set up in the Starbucks Signing Store (Washington D.C.). ~6 minutes.

Hello, everyone! πŸ‘‹ I hope all of you are staying healthy and safe.

I received an email from the deaf coffee host at Aledo, Texas, saying that they had their first "virtual" meeting! This means they met and chatted through video, using a website named Zoom.us (similar to Skype). I thought that was a wonderful idea and I asked for permission to share this with you. I also received a screenshot to show you what it looks like. (The faces and names are blurred at host's request.)

The host said, "We had our first ever virtual Deaf Coffee. It was a learning experience. Learned a couple of things: (1) Without a paid account (on Zoom.us), time limit is 40 minutes. But when we hit that time, it kept going. It went for an hour and a half. Not sure if I'll get a bill from ZOOM. (2) Participants who used cell phones could only see 4 people at a time. A full sized monitor or tablet is recommended. Other than these, not a bad first time experience. We had a small group (6 people) this time. I took a screenshot to share with you. I was using an Apple tablet."

Thanks to the Aledo host for this information! If you have any questions about using Zoom, you can visit their page and read about their experience or send a message. https://www.facebook.com/pg/Parker-County-area-Deaf-Events-1352447348180025/posts/

Maybe other deaf coffee hosts can look into this and give it a try? Share your experience with us so we can all learn from each other.

Please stay healthy and safe! 🀟❀️

Hi, everyone.πŸ‘‹ As you all know, coronavirus (COVID-19) is going around. Starbucks recently sent out email/news saying that some of their stores will close, some will have limited seating (limited number of people inside store), some will use drive-thru only, and some will stay open. It's the same or similar for most of other coffee shops and public places.

What about DeafCoffee.com? Remember, I (DeafCoffee.com) don't host events; we only show lists of deaf coffee events all over the USA. I did receive a few emails from deaf coffee hosts asking for my opinion on if they should cancel their events or keep them running. My opinion is to cancel them until the coronavirus situation becomes less serious or things go back to normal. It is better to be safe. The final decision is up to the deaf coffee events' hosts.

If you're not a host and you don't want to go to an event, then don't go. It's up to you too.

If you don't know if a deaf chat coffee is open or cancelled, please be sure to contact the host first. It will save your time. Their email or contact info are on each event page on DeafCoffee.com. They'll tell you if the event is still going on or cancelled.

Yes, Coronavirus (COVID-19) is serious and scary to some people. Please don't panic. Stay calm and use your common sense. Be sure to wash your hands and faces with soap often! Clean/disinfect your home too. You'll be fine. Think positive, be healthy, and be happy! 🀟

I'M SO SORRY! I know I haven't been updating DeafCoffee lately. I'm just one person - life and work kept me very busy. But good news, I've started updating the website little by little (yay!). I really do appreciate your patience with me. If you see that your request hasn't been updated, you can re-submit or email me.

Another good news: I will be hosting a fun contest soon! The winners will get Starbucks card code. I'll post about it later. Be sure to "like" and follow this page to get news from me.

Thanks so much!

Hi! πŸ‘‹ I hope you all had a great weekend. DeafCoffee.com received a lot of emails to update and add deaf coffee events (deafcoffee.com/updates). I also had to remove some events because I didn't hear from their hosts (deafcoffee.com/closed).

The lady in the picture wants to know WHY there's no deaf coffee events in her state listed on DeafCoffee.com! πŸ€” She wanted to attend one. Maybe the hosts didn't know about DeafCoffee.com? Or maybe they changed their email addresses. Please help spread the word! Encourage the hosts to submit their events. Inbox or email me (info (at) deafcoffee.com).

Here are the states without deaf coffee events: 😳

Alaska - Arkansas - Arizona - Colorado - Connecticut - Delaware - Iowa - Kansas - Kentucky - Maine - Massachusetts - Minnesota - Mississippi - Missouri - Montana - Nebraska - Nevada - New Hampshire - New Mexico - North Dakota - Rhode Island - South Carolina - South Dakota - Utah - Wisconsin - Wyoming

Let's try to see deaf coffee events listed in ALLLL states! 😍 (deafcoffee.com/usa-map/) Thanks. Have a wonderful week! 🀟

Poor guy in the picture! The deaf coffee's host didn't tell him that the event has moved or closed. Don't let this happen to you! πŸ˜‰

Many deaf coffee hosts have not replied to my email about their event's status/update. If I don't hear from them after a while, I will have to remove their events. So please let your hosts know about this and to contact me through email (info (at) deafcoffee.com) to add/update/remove their events. Thanks!

Here is a list of recently (A)dded or (U)pdated deaf coffee events. You can see this list on deafcoffee.com/updates
