Historical Society of Orange Park

Historical Society of Orange Park The Historical Society is working to create a Veteran's Memorial at the entrance of Magnolia Cemetery, on Kingsley Avenue.

To educate the community about the rich and dynamic history that abounds in the Greater Orange Park are and its relevance to the growth of the State of Florida. Fundraising is currently being conducted through the purchase of $50 memorial bricks and private and corporate donations. We are hoping to dedicate this new memorial on November 11, 2011 (Veteran's Day).

Congratulations to Cooper White, 8th grader from Grace Episcopal Day School, for winning Florida History Day's Outstanding County Award for Clay County! Cooper's website, "Military Jets", was the product of 8 months of research and development. He was joined at the state competition by other Grade students, Peter Chakkaphak who submitted an historical paper about the Huanhai Campaign in China and Harland Chambers who competed with a website tracking antibiotics through time. Clay County can be very proud of these boys and the accomplishments they have made.
