Men’s Mental Health Month is a reminder that strength isn’t about carrying everything alone. Reaching out, opening up, and asking for support are signs of courage.

June is Men’s Mental Health Month. Toughness, strength, and independence are often preached in male culture. NAMI’s message for male mental health: “It’s not weak to speak.”

Seeking mental wellness through treatment and community is strength! You want to feel better. You want to think better. You want to have better mental health so that you can enjoy life and serve others better. The first step: speak up! Share with someone you trust and begin your mental health recovery journey.

I am a man with Serious Mental Illness. It’s been an excruciating path, but I’m proud to have spoken up and sought continued treatment. It’s all been worth it.

When we talk about health, we often think about annual checkups, exercise, nutrition, and sleep. Mental health deserves that same attention.

This Men's Mental Health Month, we're helping break the silence around mental health challenges and reminding men everywhere that support is available.

Whether you're checking in on yourself, a friend, a father, a son, a brother, or a coworker, one conversation can make a difference.

No one should have to struggle in silence.

NAMI recognizes the important connection between mental health and spirituality, especially through the NAMI FaithNet resource network.

A local Northwest Iowa church has the following prayer request in their bulletin:
*Please pray for all who are experiencing mental health challenges. We ask for God’s peace, healing, and abiding presence, and for wisdom and compassion for those providing care and support. May all who are struggling know they are not alone and are held in God’s steadfast love.

We want faith communities to continue talking about mental health challenges and provide support to these individuals and their families!

Tomorrow night! Would love to see you there.
