We are looking so forward to hosting THREE events this year for our annual Su***de Prevention Walks. Please consider joining us as we walk together with a shared commitment of creating hope and saving lives.

Awareness means increasing knowledge, recognizing warning signs, knowing how to offer support, connecting people to help, and creating a community where no one feels alone. Our walks are about supporting, learning, and taking action to prevent su***de.

September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month💜🩵

And what better way to start the month than by recognizing all of the amazing sponsors and donors who helped make our Su***de Awareness Golf Tournament another success!

Because of your generosity and support, we raised $22,000!!🎉

The money raised stays focused on mental health, su***de prevention, education, and supporting people right here in our communities. If you'd like a recap of where this year's donations are going, please check out our pinned post!

Another successful year, and we truly couldn't do it without all of you. THANK YOU is an understatement!💜🩵

This month, we challenge you to have the tough conversations. Check on your people. Reach out. Listen. And most importantly, remember—you are never alone.

A few more THANK YOUS to some pretty amazing people and businesses who help make this tournament possible each year! 💜🩵

⛳ Thank you to Cherokee Golf Course for allowing us to host our tournament at the course year after year. They are always so flexible with all of our wants and needs and have the course looking top-notch on tournament day!

🍻 Thank you to our fabulous bartenders for keeping everyone’s drinks topped off and always being willing to help with anything that’s asked of them!

🏌️ Thank you to Speed’s Golf Cars for donating extra carts to help make sure we have enough rentals for all of our golfers!

🗑️ And thank you to Sanitary Services for donating residential dumpsters for us to use at the course throughout the tournament!

It takes so many people and businesses working behind the scenes to make this day happen, and we are incredibly thankful for each of you and your continued support! 💜🩵

A special THANK YOU to Ashley Miller, Plains Area Mental Health Crisis Services Program Director, and Kayla Mayer, Cherokee County Public Health Manager, for taking time out of their Saturday morning to join us and share an update on both past and future donations made possible through this tournament💜🩵

Ashley shared how previous funds were used to help purchase a reliable vehicle for Crisis Services, allowing their team to better serve Cherokee County and surrounding communities through mobile crisis and stabilization services.

Kayla shared how this year’s funds will continue that impact through several important initiatives:

💜 CredibleMind Mental Health Website
Funds will help launch CredibleMind, a mental health website that will be available to everyone in our community. It will provide information, tools, and resources to help individuals better understand what they may be experiencing, determine what level of support may be appropriate, and connect them with local resources.

🩵 Mental Health Education in Our Schools
Through the Cherokee County Su***de Prevention Coalition, funds will support the printing of educational materials needed to develop a mental health curriculum for our local schools. The goal is to give young people the knowledge and skills to better understand mental health, recognize when they or someone else may be struggling, know how to seek help, and build healthy coping skills and support systems.

💜 Supporting Families After Su***de Loss
Funds will also support community resilience and families following a su***de loss through grief support baskets, local resources, and continued connection and support during an incredibly difficult time.

🩵 Middle School Hygiene Kits
I also shared one additional project we will be supporting—hygiene kits for both boys and girls in middle school in Cherokee and Marcus. Something simple that can help kids feel a little more comfortable and confident during what can already be a tough transition.

THIS is why we do this tournament. Every golfer, sponsor, donor, volunteer, silent auction bidder, and supporter helps make these projects possible.

They deserve some extra special recognition for always taking care of our lunch needs! Year after year, they show up and help make sure everyone is well fed—and they’ve generously donated the meat for the last several years as well!

A special thank you to Cody Stowater for grilling! And Brooke Stowater who has been absolutely wonderful to work with over the years and always helps get everything lined up for lunch💜

We are so thankful for the Cherokee County Cattlemen, their volunteers, and the continued support they’ve shown our tournament over the years.

From set up, lunch assembly, managing the silent auction, lunch delivery, post-golf appetizers, tear down, and everything in between—this tournament simply couldn’t run without you!
