Feast and Feathers Trail Races was born from the desire to host a Thanksgiving morning race that directly contributes to the Omaha community. It’s the only Thanksgiving Day race in Omaha where 100% of proceeds benefit Food Bank for the Heartland (https://foodbankheartland.org/). Completely volunteer-run and proudly local, 2024 marks our 13th year of uniting to help fight hunger. Since 2012, Feast
and Feathers has donated an incredible $260,645 and thousands of pounds of food, providing a tangible impact to families in need. In 2023, thanks to the Shine the Light on Hunger campaign, our $22,000 donation was doubled, resulting in a record-breaking $44,000 and 3,158 pounds of food, which equaled 137,262 meals. As we look ahead to 2024, let’s make this year our biggest yet! The races include a 5k and 10k course that offer a challenge for every runner. The 10k is two loops of the 5k, taking you through the beautiful and tough hills of Lake Cunningham. You’ll run on dirt trails with leaves, tree roots, and potential technical obstacles as you navigate challenging hills that will get your quads burning. But the calorie burn and sense of accomplishment are absolutely worth it, especially when you know that every step you take is helping to support the Food Bank for the Heartland. Since its inception, Feast and Feathers has donated over $260,000 and 15,000 pounds of food, and your support in 2024 will continue that legacy. Let’s kick off this Thanksgiving holiday with sweat, heart, and the satisfaction of making a real difference in our community. Together, we can create a meaningful impact—because that’s what Feast and Feathers is all about. Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey!
