Just a reminder that we have extended the deadline for students to apply to htm until this Friday, October 5th. This beginner class is a great opportunity to get involved in our programming line up! We'll follow this class up with htm masters and then offer some more intermediate to advanced coding classes in the spring and summer.

REMINDER--today is the last day to apply for Girls Who Code at DoSpace this year!

Attention coders, parents and teachers of coders!

Fall is here and we have some introductory courses available to Omaha young women, femmes, and non-men who want to learn to code!

Our friends at Mystery Code Society are once again offering htm: a 6 week introductory coding class for students in 7th through 12th grade who are brand new to coding! In this course, students will learn the basics of making web pages with HTML and CSS. Applications are open until October 1st and are available at

Meanwhile, the Do Space club will be offering a Girls Who Code class for 5th-12th graders, running Sunday afternoons throughout the year. For beginners of all ages, the GWC curriculum focuses on both introductory coding concepts and getting girls excited about code!
Applications are due SEPTEMBER 5th (that's Wednesday!) and are available at

Like the Mystery Code Society here on Facebook to get announcements about upcoming classes, volunteer opportunities, and to follow along with our NEW class--Games for YOUnity, an Introduction to C #, Unity, and Video Games!

Mystery Code Society offers free, beginner to intermediate coding education to women, femmes, and non-men. Educational offerings include classes, workshops, meetups, and other educational events. Our focus is on students in 5th-12th grades but may include programs for new coders of all ages."

You still have time if you want to apply for our Spring/Summer class, Games for YOUnity! Applications will close Thursday, class starts on Saturday!

We are excited to announce our next class!

Games For YOUnity, a free, intermediate code class for 7th-12th grade girls, femmes, and non-men*. In this course, students will learn:

- Video Game Development
- Unity Game Engine
- C # programming language

Applications are now open at http://bit.ly/games4younity

Students should have prior experience in coding but may be new to Unity and/or C #. A home computer is not required to take this class. This class is a prerequisite for our summer class in which students design and build their own video game.

Eris Koleszar will be the instructor for this class. The session will run for 10 weeks, on Saturdays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm from March 10th - May 19th, (no class scheduled on March 31st) at the Abrahams Branch Library.

Applications (again, http://bit.ly/games4younity) are due by Thursday, March 8th. Class size is limited to 12 students.

We are excited to announce our next class!

Games For YOUnity, a free, intermediate code class for 7th-12th grade girls, femmes, and non-men*. In this course, students will learn:

htm started on Saturday with instructor Sandi K. Barr. Our class of girls/femmes/non-men learned about tags in html! Some of our coders wrote their first line of code, and all coders got these colorful notebooks to write notes in. Yes, you can!
