Ojai friends, after reading the recent thread on this forum regarding the Deer Lodge charging at the door for live music on Fridays and Saturdays, I realized that there may still be some confusion. So to be perfectly clear:
The Deer Lodge charges $3 at the door for live music on Friday and Saturday nights starting at 10pm.
100% of the door fees go straight to the musicians. The Deer Lodge keeps NOTHING from the door.
The Deer Lodge is STILL PAYING the musicians a base pay that they receive IN ADDITION to what they make from the door fees.
I noticed that some people seem to think that the Deer Lodge is either keeping the door fees for themselves, or no longer paying the musicians aside from the door fees. Neither of these rumors are true.
On the bright side, the majority of people stuck up for us in response to the inflammatory comment that was originally posted, and we are grateful for your support. I hope that this clears up any misconceptions that lingered regarding this issue.
