🎭 Call for Performers | বিজয় দিবস ২০২৬ 🇧🇩

We’re getting ready to begin rehearsals for GSBA’s Bijoy Dibosh 2026, and we’d love to hear from our talented community members!

If you or your children are interested in participating in the cultural program — music, dance, drama, or other performances — please reach out to us.

Adults and kids of all ages are welcome!

With the men's singles tournament done and dusted, we are now underway in the GSBA Men's Pickleball 2026 Doubles Tournament.

In the tournament opener top seeds and tournament favorites Khairul Alam / Jahidur Rahman produced a commanding performance to brush aside Yiasin Sumon / Iftekar Hasan (Rupol) 11-4, 11-1 and book their place in the semifinals. They will be joined in the semis by (singles champ) Sharif Faruque (Rony) / Shakil Hasan who took care of business against Muhammad Asif Rahim (Tanim) / Tamzid Islam winning 11-4, 11-9.

On the other side of the draw, Naimul Hasan (Anik) / Faisal Murad defeated Shaheen Samad / Zayd Faruque 11-5, 11-6 in an entertaining match that was much closer than the scoreline would suggest. Anik/Murad will face the winner of the final QF between Sirajul Salekin (Jewel) / Wadud Bhuiya vs Upal Mahbub (Omee) / Nazmul Hasan (Bappy).

Can anyone beat Khairul / Jahid? Stay tuned to find out as we reach the business end of the tournament.

The GSBA Women's Badminton Singles Tournament 2026 continues tonight with 3 exciting matches lined up for this evening:
1. Anamika Nijum takes on Shimu Alam in Pre-QF #3
2. Naznin Jahan Afrose Nupur faces Lubaba Kamal in QF #1
3. Nujat Chowdhury goes up against Samanta Suheen in QF #2

Dear GSBA Community,

GSBA is excited to announce the inaugural Bijoy Cup 2026 Badminton Doubles Tournament, featuring both Men’s and Women’s Doubles competitions!

Each competition will be held as a single-day tournament, with the dates and schedules to be announced. We look forward to bringing our community together for some fun, friendly competition and exciting badminton!

Tournament Details:

• Event: Bijoy Cup 2026 – Badminton Doubles
• Competitions: Men’s Doubles & Women’s Doubles
• Format: Doubles
• Team Limit: 16 teams per competition
• Duration: One day per competition
• Dates & Times: To be announced

🏸 And we’re off and running in the GSBA Women’s Badminton Singles Championship 2026!

In the first pre-quarterfinal, Naznin Jahan Afrose Nupur powered her way into the next round with a 15–5, 15–11 victory over Shakila Bristy. Joining Nupur in the quarterfinals is Nujat Chowdhury, who came through a closely fought battle against Zainab Habib, winning 15–10, 15–11.

Stay tuned as Anamika Nijum takes on Shimu Alam, while Zakia Mun Mun faces Saleha Eva in the remaining two pre-quarterfinal matches. These matches will complete our final eight, with the winners joining seeded players Sonia Habib, Samanta Suheen, Lubaba Kamal, and Farhana Karishma in the quarterfinals.

Congratulations to Sharif Faruque (Rony) for winning the GSBA 2026 Pickleball Men's Singles Championship!

In a match worthy of the final that featured plenty of scintillating rallies, Rony was just a little too strong for Muhammad Asif Rahim (Tanim) winning 6-11, 11-8, 11-8. After a slow start and dropping the first game, Rony showed tremendous mental resilience alongside his usual brilliant shotmaking to take the next 2 games by identical scoreline of 11-8, 11-8.

Rony becomes the inaugural GSBA Pickleball Men's Singles champion having beaten all 3 other semi-finalists along the way (Yiasin Sumon in the group stage, Sirajul Salekin Jewel in the semi-final and Tanim in the final). A fantastic achievement indeed, and a well-deserved champion!

Stay tuned as there is more to come from the pickleball courts. The women's singles final featuring Saleha Eva and Tanzia Chaudhury is lined up, and the men's double competition has already started!
