🚨 EL CAMINO HIGH SCHOOL GOLDEN PRIDE — PLEASE READ! 🚨

Golden Pride Family,

It’s going to be 103° today, and I need every one of you to take the heat seriously. Your health and safety come first.

💧 BRING YOUR WATER BOTTLE! This is an absolute must today. Please start drinking water before you arrive and continue hydrating throughout the entire day. Do not wait until you feel thirsty to drink.

☀️ SAVE YOUR ENERGY. Please avoid unnecessary running around, roughhousing, or anything else that wastes energy or causes you to overheat. There is absolutely no reason to burn through your energy when we know we have a long, extremely hot day ahead of us.

🧃 We will have a few IV Hydration packets available, but if you have a specific flavor you like, please bring your own.

Most importantly, pay attention to your body AND look out for your teammates. If you start feeling dizzy, nauseous, unusually tired, get a headache, or simply don’t feel right, SAY SOMETHING IMMEDIATELY. Do not try to push through it or tough it out.

We are the El Camino High School Golden Pride, and part of being a team means taking care of ourselves and taking care of each other. ❤️

Today, be smart. Hydrate often. Stay in the shade or somewhere cool whenever possible. Conserve your energy. Look out for one another.

I want every single one of you to have a great day, perform your best, and most importantly, finish the day healthy and safe.

1. Students must wear the “Take Pride.” For new members who did not receive a Take Pride shirt, wear a blank black shirt. In addition to that, also wear PE shorts, and long black socks. Students must bring their band shoes (guard shoes). Students should bring a jacket to wear after the performance.

2. Students must bring money/sack lunch for dinner at the tournament.

3. IMPORTANT EARLY RELEASE INFO: Students will only be released to their parent/guardian. Once a student is released to their parent/guardian they will not be allowed to ride back to El Camino High School on the bus.
a. Release procedure:
i. The student must store all of their equipment properly first.
ii. See Mr. James before checking out. Mr. James will release students
1) after the performance at the busses (7:00-7:15pm), or 2) after the awards at the busses (9:45-10:00pm). Parent/guardians must pick up their students at this location at these times.
iii. An email must be sent before the event or a parent note must be given the day of the event.
