This October, we are commemorating LGBTQ+ History Month by sharing our community's living history in the form of our LGBTQ+ elders and their stories. For the past year or so, the Center has facilitated a space for the personal reflections and stories that capture the courage, resilience, and hope of our senior community members. The Senior Legacy Project was a resounding success, and we hope you find connection and meaning in what has been shared for us to learn from. Our community is stronger when we work together. Right now, many local families are facing hard times and need our help to keep their little ones clean, healthy, and fed. The Reproductive Justice Program at the North County LGBTQ Resource Center is running a baby supply drive to restock our shelves and help these amazing families. Every single donation makes a huge difference and impact to our local families.

We need donations of:
- Diapers: Size 4, 5, 6 and 7
- Baby Formula
- Baby wipes
- Other baby products: baby wash, lotion, and diaper cream

Happy LGBTQ+ History Month! This is our list of events for October, alongside some locations for outreach that you can stop by and visit with us at.

For this month we have a Safe and Sexy Event focusing on healthy relationships and reproductive healthcare resources, then the Center will be closed for Indigenous Peoples Day, we have another Senior Support Group meeting, a short film screening for Intersex Awareness Day, and a Halloween Event put on by Project Youth.

Our outreach includes Oaxaca mis Amores, Temecula Pride, Boo Bash, and Latine Pride.

We also encourage you to check out other support and social groups we offer throughout the month!

Viet Film Fest 2026 - In Person October 8th-11th and Virtual October 12th-25th. The North County Center is a proud community partner of this celebration of Vietnamese voices and stories within cinema. Viet Film Fest has been showcasing cinematic creations by and about Vietnamese people since 2003 to provide a platform of education, expression, and communication that transcends country borders. Check out this years lineup of amazing stories and support the creators that put everything they had into their art.

It's voting season! One of the many ways we can make a difference for our community is to participate in elections. The right representative makes all the difference when it comes to protecting, uplifting, and serving LGBTQ+ and other marginalized members of our community, especially on a local level.

Election day is November 3rd and ballots will be mailed out starting October 5th. Please vote and return your ballot as soon as possible, and at the very latest, 5 days prior to election day.

Let our q***r voices be heard as we pushback against hateful rhetoric and institutional violence.
