Happy National Dog Day from Freedom Dogs. 🐾
Today we celebrate every dog who shows up with a wag and a purpose. we especially thank the service dogs who walk beside our wounded warriors.
These dogs provide so much more than companionship. They ground emotions when the world feels too loud. They offer consistent, steady support when invisible wounds make the next step feel impossible. They help our service members reclaim peace, confidence, and a life that feels like their own again. They retrieve smiles for those who feared they had lost them for good.
To the dogs in the blue vests, the puppy raisers who start the journey, the trainers who shape the work, and the warriors who trust the bond: thank you. Heroes for our Heroes, every day.

Otis is receiving cold laser therapy on his shoulder 🕶️ and our girl Frankie needed to have a dew claw examined. 🎥 🍿 Freedom Dogs @ the Theater! Our Freedom Dogs in training did a great job at their training session at the movies! Everyone settled in nicely and kept their focus on their partners, checking in to make sure they were doing ok and practicing “being invisible” (more on that later). Great job to all! Freedom Cats! 🐈 🇺🇸 Our Freedom Cats serve a very important purpose (other than being insanely adorable). It is vital to expose service dogs 🐕‍🦺 to different animals during their training so they can get used to them and learn to maintain their focus in their presence. Our Freedom Cats teach our young dogs in training what cats are and allow them to get used to them in a controlled environment. Thank you for your service Tom and Geri! 🐈 🐈

This month, we are proud to spotlight Freedom Dogs, an Oceanside nonprofit fundholder serving wounded service members and veterans.

With the training provided by Freedom Dogs dedicated trainers, Freedom Dogs provide physical and emotional support by executing specifically trained mitigating tasks for individuals navigating PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and other service-related challenges. Their work helps participants build confidence, strengthen independence, and move forward with trusted support at their side.

Our Freedom Dogs are learning new things and learning experiencing new environments! A big part of their job is to be comfortable in places where typical dogs never go, like the movie theater. Step 1, let them experience a theater-like environment where we can control the situation. Stay tuned for Step 2, a REAL movie theater!
