Honoring 35 Years of Service and Community ✨

Today, we proudly celebrate a momentous milestone: the 35th Anniversary of the VFW Veterans Village.
On this very day, October 13, 1991, the Village opened its doors for the first time. Nestled across 42 beautiful acres at 13005 NE 135th Street in Fort McCoy, Florida, this sanctuary has spent three and a half decades providing affordable, independent living accommodations to honorably discharged veterans, their spouses, and widows/widowers.

An achievement this meaningful is only possible because of the heart and soul behind it. We extend our deepest gratitude to the wonderful VFW and Auxiliary members who have generously given their time, resources, and unwavering dedication. Without your support, the Village would not be the thriving, supportive home it is today.
Please join us in celebrating our history, our residents, and the incredible community that makes it all possible. 🇺🇸❤️

OCALA, FL - Members of the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) Post 4209 joined other local and District VFW post members, Auxiliary members, and American Legion volunteers, to support the fifth annual VFW Day of Service. Volunteers worked at the Marion County Therapeutic Riding Association (MTRA) painting barns, spreading mulch, and cleaning horse feeding buckets.

Additionally, as part of the VFW Day of Service, Post 4209 Commander Mike Atterbery (left in image) presented MTRA Executive Director Ms. Catherine Sears (2nd from left) with a check for $6,000. The donation is part of VFW Post 4209's ongoing dedication to giving back to and serving the community. According to Jerry Deese, MTRA President of the Board of Directors (and VFW Post 4209 Quartermaster) [pictured on horse] said the donation will greatly help the MTRA fill the huge void of recent federal cuts to their therapeutic/medical and community services.
