Quality of Life wants the community
to know that we will answer your
call to help animals. We specialize in reptiles and amphibians,
but we are here to help all within our ability. A big part of our effort is to build a network
of foster homes and animal lovers. Our mission is to rescue, rehab and release. We will transport wildlife to the proper
rehab facility, if injured or orphaned. We are

also available to the community
to assist in re-homing companion animals. Pet publicist and adoption coordinator available,
provided you are willing and able to foster the animal. We hope to soon be able to assist with the sterilization
of feral cat populations, locally.

Joyous Summer Solstice from Sunny Central Florida, everyone. Bryan found these two hawk feathers in the pasture, this morning. Such a gift!! Today is the hottest and longest day of the year... and we believe it! We have abundant blessings and we are so grateful!

We wish a Happy Father's day to all of those "dads" out there... holding it down!

We have been keeping a secret... and it is time to let the proverbial cat out of the bag.

Our sweet friend Janice has been bottle raising 4 chihuahua puppies. 2 girls and 2 boys. 2 red, 2 chocolate. They have been with her a couple weeks, now, and they are doing quite well. Orphaned and left with a good Samritan, we got the referral from our friend Raven at A Mother's Love Ministries. We are grateful she sent the case our way. We only wish we could find out where mom is so we could offer her spay services.

The pups are about 4 weeks old. We are ready to start accepting applications for permanent placement. The babies have not, yet, started weaning but that should happen soon. And once they are weaned, they can get started bonding with their forever families through our Foster to Adopt program.

They are all pointed with eyebrow pips like a red/chocolate Doberman. Fostered in Ocala FL and vetting will be done at our Ocala clinic partners. Please text 352-843-6858 for adoption application.

Thank you, Monty, for eating!!! We found something he likes! It is Tastefuls puree pouches! We only had tuna flavor but we bet our bottom dollar that he would like chicken! This is a HUGE win because it has been an absolute guessing game trying to find something he wants, recently. We are ordering a case of chicken puree now! We know ya'll will be stoked to do the HAPPY MONTY EATING DANCE!!

* We also got his meds into him successfully for a 3rd day... but we are not sure we will have the same success tomorrow. He is onto us.

Sterling is growing so well! She is over 24 ounces (twice what she weighed when we got her). We have her amputation scheduled for July 1st and we will need to work on raising the funds for that surgery.

She has been doing best without a bandage on her broken foot, but it is hard to look at. Please remember that her foot is only attached to the leg by skin and ligaments. The foot is broken off of the leg and we gave worked very hard to manage the open wounds at each end (bottom of leg and top of ankle). The baby cannot keep her leg and the foot is an uncomfortable dangling appendage.

We know you guys trust us to do what is best. We have Sterling's best interest in mind, we assure you. Dr Craft is a skilled veterinarian and his team is amazing. The baby will be in the best hands and we know that! This kid has had a rough start but she has a bright future. Because her wounds have not been necrotic, we have had the luxury of waiting for her to grow before subjecting her to anesthesia. With Valor we had no choice and saving him from sepsis was always part of the fight, with him. Sterling (miraculously) was never septic. Her wounds were very stubborn granuloma (proud flesh) wounds but they have responded well to manuka honey and silvadene.

This sweet kid will need a forever home and we still don't have one lined up. Her brother Copper needs a foster more desperately than she does because he is still semi feral. Somebody needs to work with him or he will be too wild.

These babies need intake ASAP. This is the last of the indoor colony of nearly 50 cats being cared for by the sweet elderly Army veteran. Both MCAS and Sheltering Hands have helped with free TNR services and MCAS took about a dozen for adoption (this was 2 months ago). Quality of Life was able to intake 4 (of 9) kittens but we are not able to intake the last of the babies.
