Quality of Life began in '05, as a mother/daughter team devoted to making a difference, however small. As a whole, we can do a greater good.

Quality of Life wants the community
to know that we will answer your
call to help animals. We specialize in reptiles and amphibians,
but we are here to help all within our ability. A big part of our effort is to build a network
of foster homes and animal lovers. Our mission is to rescue, rehab and release. We will transport wildlife to the proper
rehab facility, if injured or orphaned. We are also available to the community
to assist in re-homing companion animals. Pet publicist and adoption coordinator available,
provided you are willing and able to foster the animal. We hope to soon be able to assist with the sterilization
of feral cat populations, locally.

There is so much wildlife on this land... but these three raccoons are probably our favorite. For about a year, now... these three are always together. We think this is particularly cute because the last guy was like "hey guys... wait for meeeee!".

We are looking for someone to transport tomorrow for an adoption. One of our kitties is being adopted and we are meeting the family halfway in Tampa. Rendezvous scheduled for 1:00 p.m. tomorrow. We could probably move the time frame back a little bit if necessary as the adopter seemed flexible. Please text Aspen at 352-843-6858 if you are able to help. Pick up would be at our Farmhouse near World Equestrian Center off Highway 40 in Ocala Florida.

* this is Callie... she is not the cat that is being adopted but she DID have a lot to say about her excitement! ❤️

We have a secret....

Bright eyes! Monty has been playing Musical Food and we are folks to his whim. 🤣

And... the master bedroom is empty, now, too! Ready for paint, trim and some new blinds! The cats have really damaged the new floor in this room because the product isn't waterproof. This room will be set up as a bedroom and used for only one or two cats at a time (in need of isolation from the others).

*this has served as a kitten room for the past few months

Happy Fall, Ya'll!

This is a throwback t-shirt design from the days of our boy, Brad Pit (of the case). was a beautiful soul and those of you that were with us years ago will fondly remember Brad. He was a lot like Monty... he came in feral. He came in rough shape. We patched him up and brought him back to health several times before finally we had to make a difficult decision. But the years we had with him we treasure.

*We had received a call from a person that was staying at a motel near Camping World Stadium. There is a deep retention area adjacent to that stadium was sheer walls. Looking down from their room they could see multiple cats stranded within that retention area and they were calling everyone trying to find help. Being in Ocala of course our hands were tied in many ways but we had to answer the cry for help and we found it when we connected with Annmarie and Cats in Knead. They connected with the city of Orlando workers and cooperatively they were able to get into the deep pit and trap all of the cats. We took three cats from that case and Brad Pit was one of them. Also this case alerted the city to the problem that the pit posed, as City surveillance was reviewed and it was discovered that unhoused individuals were luring the cats with food and pushing them into the retention area. From what we understand measures have been taken to eliminate this problem and we have not had any more calls, thankfully.

FINALLY the big back room is EMPTY!! The floors need epoxy finish!! We are open to advice and we need to finish the concrete with something that will stand up to p*e and poo (as this will be the main cat room).

This has been a year in planning and we are BEYOND relieved that the room is finally emptied. When we moved the animals to the farmhouse (in July of last year) we had to abruptly empty all of our storage units, as well. We filled up the house before we were even able to renovate, in many rooms. Then this also became the workspace while they worked on the floors and the other bedrooms. The house was unlivable and we have had to pour a lot into accomplishing improvements while simultaneously moving everything and everyone while also performing daily maintenance and care. At three locations. It.has.been.grueling.but.we.are.getting.there.

Super exciting side note: We have the panels already purchased and waiting to create a feral cat enclosure at the back of this room (thank you to unnamed cat angels). The plan is a feral cat enclosure that will be adjacent to the room out the window. This has also been a project in planning for the last 11 months. We will need someone to help us ASAP with a 16x8-ft deck to go under the catio (as well as a roof over the top). We need someone who can build it and it wouldn't hurt to have a sponsor for any lumber or sheet metal that we may need to purchase. This is exciting because we have no less than 10 feral cats that need a safe place to freely move about (it's high time they are moved out of the condos because they are not tame and they aren't going to be).

If anyone could volunteer to paint or even consider taking this popcorn ceiling down we would love to have some help with that. It's a nasty ceiling and I can't imagine how we'll ever get it clean... it just needs to come down.

Just imagine this space with cat wheels, wall furniture and everything that will make the cats comfortable!! We can't wait! Please text Aspen at 352-843-6858 if you can help with painting, popcorn ceiling, deck building or the floor project. We need help to make this happen!

*The Farmhouse is located near WEC off Hwy 40 in Ocala FL.

Liberty update! Miss Liberty has been transferred to a foster home to receive individualized care, medical treatments and help her rehab. As a CH kitten she does have needs which are being addressed with love and compassion in her foster home. She has been doing amazing! Every day a little better. She is loving the attention and watching her blossom fills our hearts with joy.
