Christians Concerned for the Community

Christians Concerned for the Community CCC focuses on serving, assisting, and empowering the poor, elderly, and disabled in crisis. PLEASE do not randomly leave items on the porch or in the yard.

Household Donations
Please note that CCC office has limited storage space and a small staff to sort through donated items and then donate items somewhere else that our neighbors are unable to use. So that we can best use staffing hours most efficiently, we request that potential donors first contact the office at 352-358-1768. Needs:
- silverware
- dinner plates, and especially bowls
- larger d

rinking glasses (not juice size)
- sharp kitchen utility knives
- pots and pans with matching lids
- plastic storage with matching lids
- general kitchen items, i.e. can openers, graters, spatulas, spoons, vegetable peelers
- electric appliances: hand mixer, blender, coffee maker (not Keurig style),
toasters, toaster ovens, microwaves
- bath and hand towels, kitchen towels
- shower curtains
- twin, full, queen size sheet sets
- twin, full, queen size blankets and comforters
- room fans and heaters

In order to preserve the dignity of those we serve, PLEASE make sure these items are clean and in good working order. We are unable to wash donated items. Again, we have limited storage space. Most neighbors request basic household items. If at all possible, please generally notate the contents of boxes and/or bags. Thank you for helping neighbors in need that reside in our community!

Hey CCC community! This was a pickup from last week! A full bed and then a twin mattress. This work would not be possible without your partnership to make the community a better place!

Hello from CCC! We hope all of our neighbors from the city of Gainesville are getting through their weeks well. These are a couple pictures from recent pickups that were made last week. The couch was delivered the same day and is actively helping a family rest more comfortably.

CCC is praying prayers and blessings over the community of Gainesville and all neighbors. Thank you to everyone that has shared and participated in the mission and heart of what CCC is doing.

CCC completed another repair project for Ms. L last week, securing a broken step and replacing rotting boards! Small team of volunteers can quickly and effectively make people's homes safer and show love through service by doing projects like this.

Please consider getting involved with CCC to show love to our neighbors in crisis situations who need the support of their community! This is a crucial way for the Church to live out the call to love our neighbor as ourselves wherever we are.

Last week CCC completed a ramp for Mr. Roosevelt, supplying much needed safety for his entry and exit from his home as he struggles with injuries and disability.
Thank you for the partnership of Rebuilding Together North Central Florida, a volunteer group from Trinity United Methodist Church - Gainesville, FL, and the generous funding from Clay Electric Co-op for this complicated ramp and porch project in the summer heat.

We are so grateful to show God's love through service to our neighbors in need, and we thank everyone who plays a part in that!

Home Delivery has continued through this summer, and here are some recent pictures!
We continue to serve disabled veterans like Mr. J and many others.
And I (Michael) got to meet another previous Director (and Board member) Lynn S (Not the founder Lynn Groce)!

Last week CCC had a huge opportunity for donations. This was from out big pickup! If you have or know of anyone who would love to get some core furniture goods off their hands, CCC is always accepting donations.

Thankful for all of the support and prayers that fuel the work of CCC. It would not be possible without the community of Gainesville!

Hey CCC family! Your support continues to go a long way and meet the need! This was a pickup of a dining room table as well as a drop off of two medium sized chests!

Again, CCC is so thankful for the people that make this organization and mission field possible!

Thank you to the crew who finished a much needed ramp replacement for Mr. Mack, and to everyone who supports our work for our neighbors in need through service, donations, or prayer.

Four of us finished the work that the college group had started the day before, providing a solid ramp for our neighbor Mr. Mack who needed a new and sturdier ramp that could hold the weight of his incoming electric chair.
