Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness have preserved the freedoms we enjoy every day.

As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we also take a moment to reflect with gratitude on those who gave everything for our nation. 🇺🇸

A few members of the 2026 Leadership Class recently had the opportunity to tour the "new" Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties facility (Gene Matthews Club), and we came away incredibly impressed. The beautiful new space is thoughtfully designed to support and inspire local children through a wide range of after-school and summer programs.

From academic support and enrichment activities to mentorship and recreational opportunities, it was inspiring to learn how much is being offered to help shape a positive future for youth in our community. We are grateful for the chance to see firsthand the meaningful impact this organization continues to make throughout Sarasota and DeSoto Counties.

What a great day with the North Port Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class for our Environment & Tourism Day! Melanie Hurd, Alumni 2024, saved the day by being available to facilitate the day. Thank you, Soleil Dental Studio, for allowing her the time away from your office to support our program.

Throughout the day, the class explored the natural beauty, history, recreation, and organizations that make our area unique — from Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park and Warm Mineral Springs Park to valuable conversations with community leaders and partners who are passionate about preserving and promoting our region.

Every stop along the way brought new insight, meaningful conversations, and plenty of laughs. Even the unexpected moments became part of the adventure and a reminder that flexibility and teamwork can turn any challenge into a memorable experience.

Thank you to all of our speakers, guides, and community partners who made the day impactful and engaging for our class. Your time and passion do not go unnoticed.
