Oak Ridge Community Band Since 1944, the Oak Ridge Community Band has performed concerts for the community of Oak Ridge Tenne Bissel Park in Oak Ridge, TN. Come see us!

The Oak Ridge Community Band, one of the most active voluntary musical organizations in East Tennessee, has a unique history. Organized in 1944 as the Municipal Band by the Manhattan Project Recreation and Welfare Department, the first public performance was held under the canopy at Jackson Square on July 4, 1944. Several original members and their descendants continue to play with the band. The ORCB performs free outdoor concerts in the Performing Arts Pavilion at Alvin K. These are 7pm performances on Memorial Day, Independence Day, the first Sunday in August and Labor Day. The band also performs free indoor concerts featuring a wide variety of music and Christmas Carols during the holiday season.
