Leadership Oak Ridge

Leadership Oak Ridge What is Leadership Oak Ridge? Leadership Oak Ridge is an issues based ten-month program.

Leadership Oak Ridge Mission
To inform current, potential and emerging leaders about Oak Ridge and its issues, and provide them leadership skills development in order to empower them to identify and implement solutions to those community issues. Participants meet for all day sessions to learn about and discuss topics such as government, education, economic development, health care, social service

s, quality of life and other timely subjects. Each session includes an application element to demonstrate an example of leadership. And, class members are required to participate in out-of-class assignments to garner more information and experiences. The program includes two overnight trips so that class members can have unstructured time for informal networking. The last session prior to graduation is committed to class members reporting to each other about their experiences and what they plan to become involved in – where they plan to “make a difference.”

Beginning with the 2015 class, Leadercast will be included as a part of the curriculum.
