Yesterday, our community came together for the Norwalk Community College Foundation's first-ever Giving Day, and we are incredibly grateful.

Every gift fuels the support we are able to provide students from scholarships to emergency assistance, student success initiatives and opportunities that open doors for current and future students.

Just as meaningful was the spirit behind the day itself: generations of people connected by this institution choosing to invest in the next generation of students.

A gift today does more than provide support. It sends a message to CT State Norwalk students that their community believes in them.

It also helps us continue to do work on campus to support students and keep the doors to higher education open.

Last week, we introduced Giving Day at the All College Meeting and were met with immediate enthusiasm from faculty and staff, many of whom are CT State Norwalk alumni themselves.

That support comes as no surprise. Every day, our faculty show students how deeply this campus community cares about their success, both inside and outside the classroom.

Today, many of the gifts supporting our first-ever Giving Day are coming from current and former faculty and staff, a powerful reflection of their belief in our students and in the mission of CT State Norwalk.

A lot has changed since the 1970s, but one thing hasn’t: generations of students coming to CT State Norwalk hoping education could help build a better future.

On this first-ever Giving Day, we’re reflecting on the ambition and resilience that connect today’s students to alumni across decades.

Our students often share that knowing alumni from past generations continue to give back to the Foundation helps them believe in themselves and continue pursuing their education.
