know that when women are allowed to contribute fully to society, the world is a better place. Sweet Mother's mission is to change the world by enabling Ordinary Women to strive to be the best.
12 years ago, Sweet Mother set out to tell the untold stories of Ordinary W

omen doing Extraordinary things: Women who are making things happen in their world, women who have outperformed, innovated, discovered, defined and soared. In 12 years Sweet Mother has recognized 44 women all over the United States. Their passion, competence, a sense of mission, support from others, hard work, discipleship, courage and determination are but a few of the qualities that elevate the Ordinary into the Extraordinary. Annually we celebrate the outstanding strength of these Ordinary Women who are doing Extraordinary things. These women are nominated by people who have seen them just refusing to "walk away.' Proceeds of these events have gone towards the education of under privilege girls and boys both globally and domestically. In the last 12 years Sweet Mother Inc has contributed $48,000 towards education of 25 girls in the Forum of African Women Educationalist School in Sierra Leone in West Africa, 15 Ebola Orphans who lost their parents during the Ebola crisis in Sierra Leone and also contributing towards the University or College fees for a student at the St Martin De Pores Academy in New Haven , CT Sweet Mother Inc., believes that our world can be happier, healthier, and more peaceful and that we can help to create that better world with your help, working together with us we shall bring change to a more joyful world! 16 years ago my non-profit Sweet Mother Inc., started to support Marginalized girls at the Forum of African Women School, Waterloo Village in the outskirts of the capital Freetown, Sierra Leone. This school was initially built by my former Church Grace Episcopal Church in Norwalk, CT. and when the church closed down. My new Church Grace Community Church in New Canaan, CT have been a pillar of support for these girls.
Sweet Mother Inc was created initially to celebrate the outstanding strength in Ordinary Women doing Extraordinary things. In 16 years we have celebrated sixty-four women all over the United States. The proceeds of the events go towards the education of these marginalized girls in Sierra Leone and within our community in Norwalk. CT where the organization is based. Out of the 25 girls we support at FAWE School in Freetown, have completed University Education including Bintu Dumbuya who was the Star Student at Milton Margai University, Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Convocation Ceremony. Out of 1200 students she won the award for the best student to graduate this year at the University . We also have another set of five students on the pipeline.
Our Board of Directors have just completed an 8 days tour of the school and have the opportunity to meet the graduates, the girls who are now in Colleges and Universities and the rest of the girls. When we started the school 16 years ago we had 60 girls. The school now have 1500 girls who are forced to attend school in two shifts from 8-12 and from 12-6pm daily. This is a big challenge for the girls and the school. We also met with the Minister of Education and had some in depth conversation with him. He was also able to share with us some of the challenges his Ministry have to face.
We are very proud of the work that FAWE continues to offer to these girls from difficult backgrounds and yet being able to produce students like Bintu Dumbuya who was able to win her University award and not only that award but all the awards given at the convocation of degree ceremony.
We at Sweet Mother Inc are committed to continue to change lives and produce students like Bintu Dumbuya. Your support will also be deeply appreciated to enable us achieve our goals.
We hold our events twice a year. A Victorian High Tea in May and our main fundraising and awards dinner dance in September. Please come and support us or you can go to our website sweetmotherawards.org
and make your donations. We refused to walk away. Please help us to continue to change lives and produce students like Bintu Dumbuya!
Below are pictures of Bintu’s graduation and awards ceremony to which I was privileged to attend.
