County Sheriffs of Colorado(CSOC) is excited to bring a newly developed specialized tuition-free course to Colorado Peace Officers that will focus on de-escalation techniques when responding to the adolescent population:

Training Course: CIT: Youth in Crisis is a 3-day/24-hour course that consists of 16 hours of classroom training and 8 hours of live simulation practice. See attached flyer for a deeper overview.
Who should attend?: CO Peace Officers who would like to advance their de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques with the adolescent population (ages 12 – 17). School Resources Officers are highly encouraged to join this training.
When/Where: CSOC is bringing two courses to the Front Range this June. Both will be hosted at schools that are vacated for the summer to elevate the impact of the training.

Sierra Middle School Career Fair

School Resource Officer Nevins spoke with hundreds of Sierra Middle School students at their annual career fair. He had a great time talking to them about the responsibilities of police officers and answering all their questions.
