County Sheriffs of Colorado(CSOC) is excited to bring a newly developed specialized tuition-free course to Colorado Peace Officers that will focus on de-escalation techniques when responding to the adolescent population:
Training Course: CIT: Youth in Crisis is a 3-day/24-hour course that consists of 16 hours of classroom training and 8 hours of live simulation practice. See attached flyer for a deeper overview.
Who should attend?: CO Peace Officers who would like to advance their de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques with the adolescent population (ages 12 – 17). School Resources Officers are highly encouraged to join this training.
When/Where: CSOC is bringing two courses to the Front Range this June. Both will be hosted at schools that are vacated for the summer to elevate the impact of the training.
