Currently in its fifth year, the GoBabyGo program has received growing alumni support, including a donation from the New Trier Class of 1981. This gift helps to considerably expand the program with more tools and equipment. This alumni support has also taken the program to the next level, from serving toddlers to also serving older children up to age 7. New Trier alumni from multiple classes and in various fields and professional endeavors have acknowledged the impact that GoBabyGo has created for our students, the school, the children and families served, and the larger New Trier community.
With funding from the Foundation’s Marran Grants program and from private support, New Trier Applied Arts brought GoBabyGo into our classrooms for the first time during the 2021-2022 academic year to provide modified cars to six children. Since then, financial support for the program has consistently grown each year to enable the purchase of more cars and the participation of more students, resulting in more children and families being served. To date, more than 150 children have taken home their own customized cars from New Trier.
