RISE International Every child has the right to education. Every child should have the chance to go to school, to learn to read and write.

RISE builds primary schools in rural Angola to educate children, empower communities, and contribute to the rebuilding of the country. Since 2003, RISE has built 198 rural schools, providing the opportunity for education to over 144,000 children. The greatest achievement lies with the lives impacted, the children who are now in school. The tangible accomplishments, those measurable pieces, represe

nt the efforts of many schools, churches, individuals and groups working together, both in the US and in Angola. The intangible impact in the lives of those on both sides of the ocean is beyond measure.

Wheeling High School's Interact with Africa Club hosted their 5th Annual Trivia Challenge! Wheeling has been raising money and awareness since 2003! The event was filled with energy, excitement, and teamwork. RISE visited 3rd grade classes Christian Heritage Academy to share about RISE and our work building schools in Angola to give children access to education. Students learned about the similarities and differences between their lives and those of kids in Angola. They also had the opportunity to “experience” aspects of daily life in an Angolan village, including corn pounding, carrying water jugs, balancing a basket, and wrapping African fabric. Thanks to the teachers and students for their enthusiasm and engagement!
