“Less than three months after the most devastating day in Israel’s history, I stepped into the role of National President of Hadassah.” 💙
On January 1, 2024, Carol Ann Schwartz began her leadership journey during one of the most difficult moments for Israel and the Jewish people. Just five days later, she was on the ground in Israel, leading a week-long Hadassah solidarity mission alongside members and supporters from eight countries.
Her Hadassah story began in 1991 in Cincinnati with one simple goal: to make a difference and connect with women who shared her values.
Today, she represents Hadassah at some of the most influential tables in the world.
“What Hadassah makes possible through its extraordinary mission and for the people who power it is immeasurable. It’s Lifechanging each and every day.”

Chapter President's Corner: June 2026

Strengthening Zionism – the Jewish people’s connection and commitment to our historic homeland of Israel - is at the core of Hadassah’s mission. Amid escalating anti-Israel sentiment, we need to amplify women’s voices as thought leaders, educators and advocates in support of Zionism and Israel now more than ever.

From a study group over 100 years ago, Henrietta Szold helped launch the healthcare system in Israel and a legacy of engaging women throughout the U.S. Today, Hadassah promotes programming to deepen our understanding of and enhance our pride in Zionism. Our advocacy efforts support Israel’s security and a strong US-Israel relationship and further Hadassah’s commitment to healing the world.

2026 brings forth Dayton Hadassah's Centennial year! We will be having 3 celebrations throughout the year to commemorate our 100th birthday. Our first event will be on Sunday, June 7 at 2:00, as we partner will the Jewish Film Festival. Together we are bringing in the movie, Labors of Love, the Henrietta Szold movie. Please join us as we recognize the accomplishments of Henrietta Szold, the founder of Hadassah.

I hope to see everyone on June 7!

As a vice chair of the ADL's national board, Sharon Nazarian is deeply engaged in the fight against anti-Jewish bias and racial hatred worldwide because, she says, one inevitably leads to the other. “We always say it starts with the Jews, but it doesn’t end with the Jews.”

One of the most outspoken Iranian American Jewish voices says ‘it starts with the Jews, but it doesn’t end with the Jews.’
