💜 From the Heart of Stephanie Melucci, Founder & CEO of the Elizabeth K. Andrews Charity Fund 💜

Two years ago today, I lost my grandmother, my inspiration, and the entire reason this nonprofit exists.

On this day, Elizabeth K. Andrews passed away after her battle with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. While the world may know her as the name behind our organization, to me she was simply MomMom — the woman who helped shape the person I am today.

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss her. There are still moments when I pick up the phone wanting to call her, times when I wish I could hear her laugh, ask for her advice, or simply give her one more hug. The pain of losing someone you love so deeply never truly disappears.

When she passed, I made a promise that her story would not end there.

What began as one granddaughter's heartbreak became a mission to honor her legacy. Because of MomMom, the Elizabeth K. Andrews Charity Fund was born. Because of MomMom, we have been able to raise awareness for Alzheimer's disease and other debilitating neurological conditions, support families facing these heartbreaking diagnoses, and help ensure that memories can continue.

Everything we do, every event we host, every dollar we raise, every life we touch, is because of her.

MomMom, I hope you can see all the good that has come from your legacy. I hope you know how many people now know your name and have been inspired by your story. Most of all, I hope you know how much you are still loved and missed.

Thank you for giving me a lifetime of memories. I will spend the rest of my life making sure yours live on.
