For 11 years Wheezy and Lucky were living the dream…warm beds, lots of food, fun toys, a loving family and each other…but they were reminded that a dream can easily turn into a nightmare.
That ‘loving family’ was not all it was cracked up to be. One of their owners passed away and the other decided she did not want cats anymore…so Lucky, Wheezy, and 3 others were put outside. After 12 years or predictability, life suddenly because a game of survival. And two did not survive 😢
Their steady food source? Gone.
Warmth? Gone.
Shelter? Gone.
But…
The love they had for each other stayed.
These two braved the elements outside for a year and a half. They had each other, that’s all they needed. But what they deserved was far more, so one day a neighbor called us asking for help. We were full, but we knew they needed us, so we said yes.
Finally, their nightmare was going to turn back into a dream. They were going to be safe and inside again, no more uncertainty. But we could only take in one at a time. We were beyond capacity. We figured this will be okay in the long run, even though we hated to do it.
Wheezy was the first one ready, she was in a carrier ready to go, when the neighbor noticed the third one was sick so she brought her as well, leaving Lucky by himself. He was a mess without Wheezy. Meowing everywhere and refusing to eat, so we said okay bring him too we will figure it out.
But then Lucky disappeared. For two weeks no one saw him. After staying in the same area for a year and a half. Everyone was heartbroken and filled with so many regrets and what ifs. We all kept thinking he would return, until we all started to think he might be gone.
But then their neighbor looked on Facebook and he was posted on a found pet site - a few blocks away! Lucky was alive! She called us and we said bring him asap. The second we got him and tested him we were able to reunite him with Wheezy. And boy did they miss each other.
This is them at all times. Snuggling and watching out for one another.
Now, they are ready for their happy ending. Their story started together and will end together - these two are a package deal. Their love will make your heart burst everyday. And did we mention they are the sweetest?! All they want to do in be held and loved on. We love them to pieces and will give them nothing less than the perfect home.
They are both around 12 years old, spayed/neutered, FIV/FeLV negative and UTD on vaccines.
*If their story touched your heart, but you can only have one cat. Their mom is also up for adoption and would love to be a single cat, she is also just as sweet ❤️
