UPDATE: ADOPTED 🎉🙌Thank you to Kris’s hero!
🆘 KRIS IS STILL AVAILABLE & NEEDS A HERO 🆘 Kris hasn’t been at the shelter for very long, but he is already deteriorating quickly despite being on anti-anxiety medication 💔 He has started hurting himself in the kennel to the point of bleeding. The shelter will not let him keep harming himself for long, rightfully so. We desperately need to find him an adopter or rescue ASAP. PLEASE, PLEASE SHARE!
Kris is only around 1 year old (maybe younger) and a great medium size, about 45 pounds - the perfect size! He comes bouncing out of his kennel with plenty of young-dog energy, but give him a little time to decompress and he settles down and walks like the best boy he can be 🥹 He’s treat motivated, already knows sit, and we can only imagine what else this smart boy could learn with someone willing to give him a chance.
And despite being young and energetic, when Kris gets outside, he doesn’t want to spend any of his time running around or playing. He wants to be close to a person ❤️
He still acts like a puppy in so many ways and seems desperate to connect with people. He loves to cuddle, give kisses and soak up attention 🥰 He was comfortable with us handling and petting him while he was chewing on a bone, and he seems to have potential with other dogs.
Kris needs out. This guy should be starting his life, not struggling this badly in a kennel. If you have a home that could be a fit for a young dog, please come meet him. Even if you can’t adopt, PLEASE SHARE. The right person may be one share away. 🙏
As always, bring the whole family, including resident dogs, for a meet and greet. Cats should be brought in a hard-sided carrier. Come see if Kris belongs in your home. 🏡🐾

Every dog comes with donated, free training sessions with local trainers: Cosmic K9 (2 sessions) and Hoperidge RTA (1 session). Adopters should research post-adoption decompression and the rule of 3s: 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn your routine and 3 months to start to feel at home.
