One of our amazing Providence Academy students has an opportunity to attend a college in Brazil to study social work. She will be a wonderful asset to the Les Cayes community with this education. Her tuition there is free but she will need about $6000 for her and Ashley to travel there and set up housing. Please pray for our friends and family in Haiti as they prepare for Hurricane Melissa. They are expecting up to 30 inches of rain to fall in the next few days. They are doing their best to prepare for flooding at both of the school buildings, the orphanage, and especially the homes of all of our staff and students.

By early next week, we might be talking about a Category 5 hurricane, but widespread flooding is going to be the most impactful threat from Melissa. Here's how bad it could get in Haiti and Jamaica.

We support Providence Academy! Right now they need help with the bus that needs repairs. The bus makes it possible for the kids at the orphanage to get back and forth to school every day and for the school to be able to take kids on field trips. The cost of this repair is $328. If you can help us meet this need please follow the link below and select "Bus Costs" from the drop-down menu.

The bus also costs a lot in general maintenance, gas, and repairs every year. Last year we spent over $3500 on the bus besides the money that is paid by the orphanage. We would love to have sponsors willing to donate a one-time amount or monthly payment to help defer some of these costs.
