New heroes on board! 🦸‍♀️ 🦃 Did you know Thanksgiving Heroes serves across the country? All because of one act of kindness when our founder Rob Adams was a child!!! Just amazing. New turkey suits are in order 😆 Welcome!

🌴❤️ BIG NEWS! Please help us give a warm welcome to our newest Thanksgiving Heroes affiliate, Orange County, California!

We are so excited to officially welcome Tiffany Abrishami and Karen Francis as they lead the charge to bring Thanksgiving Heroes to Orange County. Their goal for this very first year is ambitious and inspiring: providing Thanksgiving meals to 726 families in need! 🦃✨

What started in Salt Lake City has continued to grow across the country because incredible people step up and say “yes” to serving their communities and Tiffany and Karen are doing exactly that.

We cannot wait to see the impact that will be made throughout Orange County through partnerships, volunteers, donors, and neighbors helping neighbors.

Why Stark County? Because hunger hits home 📍

Approximately 15.3% of Stark County’s population (over 57,700 people) faces food insecurity, with 20% of our children affected.

These aren’t just statistics; they are families, friends, coworkers, and neighbors in our community that are currently experiencing hunger and may not have a Thanksgiving meal unless someone steps in.

We believe Stark County is full of people who care deeply and are ready to make a difference, and we want to offer them an opportunity to connect with their community in a memorable way this holiday season. It’s not all that needs done, but it’s our small way of making a big difference during the holiday.

Big news over here at Thanksgiving Heroes Stark! We just received our FIRST DONATION ever!!!

Thank you to Walmart Massillon for being our first HERO and providing us with a $2,500 Spark Good grant to kick things off. We are so thrilled to recognize you as the first of many heroes on our WALL OF FOUNDERS! This isn’t just about this year’s Thanksgiving distribution, it’s also about the start of something bigger that will serve thousands in the years to come.

I know it's hard to care about Thanksgiving in April, but we’re inviting others that see the TGH vision to be part of our origin story too. Anyone who gives $500 or more this year will be permanently recognized as a Founding Donor on our website’s Wall of Founders. Thanksgiving is unique because it’s all about coming together for a meal. Sharing food with loved ones is at the center of celebration, not expensive gifts or grand parades. Thanksgiving evokes joy for many of us, but for families facing food insecurity, Thanksgiving can do the opposite of what it’s meant to do.

💔 Instead of joy, it can magnify stress.
💔 Instead of celebration, it can highlight what’s missing.

Thanksgiving Heroes’ founder, Rob Adams, experienced this firsthand. When he was a child his family was poor and living out of a pickup truck, with school being the only place he was guaranteed to eat. One Thanksgiving, another family provided them with a full, proper Thanksgiving meal. That act of kindness stayed with him for life, and he made it his mission to make sure other families would get to have that same experience 🧡🙏🏻

🌟What began as one family helping another has now grown into Thanksgiving Heroes chapters feeding thousands across the nation🌟

That same heart is what we’re bringing to Stark County.

One day. One meal. One act of kindness that can last a lifetime.

ANNNDDD WE’RE LIVE!!!! Hello there everyone my name is Alexandra Lacourt and I’m the President of Thanksgiving Heroes Stark County.

For the last several years I’ve had the privilege of leading Thanksgiving Heroes in Cleveland, where we provided thousands of families with full Thanksgiving meal kits and engaged hundreds of volunteers each year. I was ready to move back home to Plain Township but I wasn’t ready to take off the turkey suit, so now I’m working to bring Thanksgiving Heroes to Stark County! 🦃

I’ve seen firsthand the impact Thanksgiving Heroes can have not just on meal recipients, but delivery volunteers as well. Families establish new traditions, hugs and tears are shared, and lives are changed. It is truly a meal distribution service like NO OTHER, and I can’t wait to share the experience with the community that I was raised in 🧡
