The Coos County Mounted Sheriff's Posse is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization that works with the Sheriff’s office to serve the people of Coos county. The posse assists the Sheriff’s office in the preservation of law and order, promotes good horsemanship, and fosters fellowship and sportsmanship. Posse members assist the Sheriff’s office with community events and emergency operations, repres

ent the Sheriff’s office in parades, participate in monthly trail rides, compete in rodeo-style games, do search and rescue, and enjoy being with other posse members. The posse gives back to the community with local high school scholarships and provides Christmas baskets for needy families. Coos County posse is a member of the Oregon Association of Mounted Posses.
