ACTION: BRC joins the fight to save the Oregon Dunes. The group that brought that cases behind Oceano Dunes and West Mojave is now in court over the Oregon Dunes.
On one side is Save the Riders Dunes, a local volunteer group with day jobs who have carried this case largely on their own with the help of Douglas and Coos counties. On the other is the Center for Biological Diversity, with full-time attorneys and a nationwide donor base.
BlueRibbon Coalition has formally entered the case to put our legal team and our resources alongside them.
Here is what C*D will not tell you. Riders reach only about 19% of the Dunes. The other 81% is already closed to them. Martens live in dense vegetation and riders use open sand. No study ties OHV use to marten decline. The volunteers this lawsuit targets have cleared more than 45 acres of invasive vegetation out there.
We cannot out-fund them. Few organizations can. What we can do is stay in this case until it is finished, and staying in costs money.
Here’s how you can hep:
Pacific Northwest Four Wheel Drive Association is matching every donation dollar for dollar up to $6,000, so $50 lands as $100.
And we’re giving DOUBLE entries into our custom Polaris RZR sweepstakes now through Sunday. This is our biggest multiplier.
