Here's how you can help salmon out as they're doing the hard work this season:
• Water smarter outdoors! Water early or late in the day, adjust sprinklers with the weather, and check
the soil moisture before watering again.
• Fix leaks at home. Check toilets for silent leaks, fix dripping faucets and outdoor spigots, and watch for
unexpected increases in your bill.
• Choose water-wise landscaping. Plant natives, group plants with similar watering needs together, and
let your lawn go dormant in hot weather.
• Skip the hose. Sweep sidewalks and driveways instead of hosing them down and wash your car at a
commercial car wash that recycles water.
