Volunteer Spotlight ✨

This week, we’re recognizing Elizabeth, a volunteer who shows us that even the busiest schedules can make room for kindness.

Between all of life’s responsibilities, Elizabeth still finds the time to give back and spread good throughout the community.

And as a bonus? She turns volunteering into a bit of a workout too! Thank you, Elizabeth!

Last week marked the first day of Spring 🌼 As we welcome spring, we want to plant seeds of hope for our neighbors facing food insecurity.

Even as the seasons change, the need for nutritious food remains constant. Donate one bag of groceries to support families in our community and make a meaningful impact this season.

Let’s grow a stronger, healthier community together!

We are proud and deeply grateful to share that we have received support from the Essex County Community Foundation.

This foundation plays a vital role in helping nonprofits meet the moment, especially during times of crisis when organizations like ours are on the frontlines serving our community.

With this support, we can continue our mission to fight food insecurity in the Merrimack Valley. Thank you to ECCF and everyone who contributes, your support makes a real difference. đź’™

March is National Nutrition Month 🥕🍎

Food security is health security. During National Nutrition Month, we’re reminded that access to nutritious food helps power our entire community.

Part of our mission is to Promote Nutrition and Wellness by providing access to healthy food options and nutritional education at our pantry.

Donations often slow down around this time of year, but the need in our community hasn’t gone away. In fact, many families are facing higher grocery costs, rising bills, and fewer resources.

At People’s Food Pantry, we’re working hard to keep our shelves stocked so that anyone who needs help can get it. Your support, whether it’s a food donation, a financial gift, or sharing our mission, makes a real difference.

Shout out to the incredible students in the Early College program at Northern Essex Community College for stepping up to support local food pantries! 🥣💙

Students organized a “Cereal Challenge” and collected 3,364 boxes of cereal for local food banks like ours. They set a goal of 2,600 boxes and quickly surpassed it with help from classmates, local businesses, and the community.

Their generosity will help keep pantry shelves stocked and support families across our region. Thank you! 👏

Early College students collected 3,364 boxes of cereal, lined them up, and then knocked them down domino-style.
