To be honored alongside so many accomplished activists and leaders—especially the elders who have been fighting for our community here in Massachusetts for decades—was truly humbling.

Thank you to North Andover’s State Reps State Representative Adrianne Ramos and MA State Rep. Tram T. Nguyen for the nomination. Thank you both for your unwavering, outspoken support for LGBTQ+ rights, healthcare, and legal protections.

This is the first time the LGBTQ+ Caucus has awarded these honors, after years of planning. I am excited to see more of North Andover’s amazing LGBTQ+ community members recognized in the years to come!

You may have noticed, but the free giveaway station was missing from the event on Wednesday. We brought the prizes but TOTALLY FORGOT to bring the tickets!

We still have all these amazing gifts to give away thanks to the The Village Studio Gifts & More, so we're going to do this digitally. Upside is we get to spread out the fun a little bit :)

Enter to win using the google form below. We will leave entries open until Wednesday, June 17th. Entry is FREE and winners will be chosen in a random drawing. Winners will be announced on Thursday, and we'll give you a pickup location in North Andover where you can claim your prize!

THANK YOU to everyone who joined us this week at our Third Annual Pride & Popsicles event on the town common. This was our most well-attended event yet, and for the first time we had guests join the fun (Stevens Memorial Library and their awesome staff! Tavern On High who will be supporting McVAGLY all month with pin and martini sales! If you know any LGBTQ+ youth ages 14-23 looking for a great group to join, please let them know about McVagly, which meets at North Parish.)

We also saw nearly all of North Andover's elected officials (local and state!), friends from the North Andover Farmers Market and the Democratic Town Committee (Chris Allen you are a champion!), staff from North Andover Public Schools including Superintendent Lathrop (our #1 popsicle distributor!), local clergy, and friends and neighbors of all ages.

We gather together each year in celebration, in remembrance of those who came before us and those beloved members of our community who we have lost, and in commitment to building a society where all people feel safe, seen, loved, valued, and have access to equitable rights, protections, and opportunities. We have a long way to go, but standing together and sharing joy gives us the strength to keep fighting.

We want to offer speciall thanks to Baby Viking Photography whose major donation from last year's Pride Mini photoshoots made this year's event possible, to The Village Studio Gifts & More for their generous donation of giveaway items, and to the (opening weekend is June 21, now located behind Town Hall!) for loaning us their freezer and lawn games every year. Last but not least, thank you to our friend and tireless ally Janice Phillips for North Andover Select Board —without your help, support, and encouragement this event would not be possible.

Each year this event grows, and we learn a little more about what works and what we could do better. We will be back next June, bigger and better, and hopefully in a world with a little more justice and joy than the year before. Thank you for being with us!

PS If you have photos to share, please feel free to tag us or post them in the comments! Just make sure you have permission from anyone featured :)

On June 12, 2016, the Pulse nightclub tragedy shook our world, taking 49 beautiful lives and leaving countless others forever changed. Today, we remember the victims, stand with the survivors, and reaffirm our commitment to love, unity, and resilience.
