5k on the Runway at Logan GOES VIRTUAL!
Your health and wellbeing along with your family's are the number #1 priority to all of us. And we deeply value and appreciate your generous support of Angel Flight NE's mission by registering to participate in the 5k on the Runway at Logan.
As you know MA Gov. Baker has cancelled all public gatherings for the foreseeable future due to the Coronavirus and we are following his request by practicing social distancing. Therefore, after discussions among Massport, JetBlue, and ourselves, it was decided that we have no other choice, but to take a different, creative approach with our Inaugural 5K On the Runway at Logan Int’l Airport (BOS) that was scheduled for May 3, 2020.
Given we have already incurred significant upfront expenses and invested countless Angel Flight NE staff hours to coordinate this event, we are going to convert the 5K on the Runway to a VIRTUAL 5K Challenge that will start today thru May 3rd! We realize this is not the outcome many of you would have hoped for, but we are making the best of what we already invested in for the event with the hopes to keep the spirit going.
We realize that you paid the registration fee and while there was a no refund policy in place, we want to be fully supportive of you and show our appreciation for all your efforts while we continue our mission of providing free life-saving flights.
We would like to offer you three (3) options which can be done thru your personal event registration page by April 10th. To let us know your choice, follow these instructions:
* Go to the event website – https://raceroster.com/events/2020/29945/5k-on-the-runway-virtual
* Choose “Sign In” in upper right hand corner then enter the email address and password you registered with;
* Go to “Menu” in upper right hand corner and choose “My Homepage” and click on the 5k on the Runway event;
* Click on “Edit Registration” and choose one of the option given below then click “Save & Exit”.
1. GO VIRTUAL and take the 5K Challenge by converting your registration: If you are like most of us, you are going stir crazy sitting in the house and just need to get out for a bit of fresh air or maybe you already have a daily regimen of running/walking. So why not convert your 5K on the Runway registration into a VIRTUAL 5K Challenge activity! You would be still showing your support of Angel Flight NE’s mission and contributing to our ability to support patients and families during a very difficult time. Virtual Challenge Participants will have the opportunity to enter their running/walking times (which will be an honor system). We'll follow up with an email with instructions on how to enter your Virtual 5K Challenge time by May 3rd!
Do you have a friend who may be interested in taking this challenge also? Have them register today! We welcome anyone that would like to participate and help support our mission during this difficult time. It is a great way to integrate your run/walk routine or participate in a run/walk activity to support our mission.
AND JUST AS A REMINDER - the runner/walker who raises the most money will win four round-trip flights on JetBlue which will be a great way to get away once this is behind us.
2. Donate your registration back to Angel Flight NE: Maybe the VIRTUAL 5k Challenge is not for you, but you still want to support our mission. During this difficult time filled with uncertainty, we are actively continuing our mission to ensure that distance is never an obstacle for our patients to access life-saving medical care. We are also putting plans in place so we can support the medical teams who are working tirelessly to care for patients afflicted with this virus. Our mission coordination team has been working 24x7 with patients, their families, our compassionate 400+ volunteer pilots along with our ground crew and supportive commercial aviation partners - JetBlue and Cape Air - to coordinate flights so our patients don’t miss a treatment that often times is medically necessary to survive. Click on the event website link above if this the option you would like to participate in and follow the instructions on how to convert your registration to a donation We will send you a letter of thanks to confirm your donation.
3. Request a refund for your registration: We understand that you are probably just as disappointed as we are that the 5K on the Runway at Logan is not taking place. Obviously, this is out of our control. For that reason, you can request a refund (less processing fees) by clicking on the event website link and follow the steps mentioned above to request a refund.
We hope to hold the 5K on the Runway at Logan next year and you’ll be the first to know when registration is open! Your continued support allows us to bring healing and hope to thousands of children and adults who turn to us for help during some of the most difficult times of their lives. We have been able to fulfill our mission for more than 24 years because of our 400+ dedicated and committed pilots, our incredibly generous airline partners - JetBlue and Cape Air, and wonderful people like you ~ And we don't plan to stop now!
