Hope for Today

Today, HUGS Street Ministry is out in full force at the Share Center in Norman, serving our unsheltered neighbors with hot showers, undergarments, hygiene products, cold water, and lemonade.

But most importantly, we are sharing something that costs nothing and means everything—the love of Jesus Christ. ❤️

It breaks our hearts to see the hopelessness and hurt in so many faces. But today, through HUGS Street Ministry, we are able to remind them that they are seen, valued, loved, and not forgotten.

We may not be able to change everything in their lives today, but we can give them hope for today. 🙏

Please continue to pray for our unsheltered community and for everyone serving on the streets. Together, we can be the hands and feet of Jesus. ❤️

Bicycle Transportation & Employment Program

Another dynamic part of HUGS Street Ministry is helping our unsheltered neighbors overcome one of the biggest barriers to employment: reliable transportation.

Many people experiencing homelessness do not have a vehicle or dependable transportation to get to work. For some, a bicycle can be the difference between being unable to accept a job and having the freedom to get to work every day.

HUGS Street Ministry accepts gently used bicycles, repairs and restores them, and then provides them to individuals who need transportation. We also help repair bicycles that people already own, keeping them safely on the road and helping them remain connected to employment and essential services.

This program has already been a great success. Our goal is to put boots on the ground in Norman—helping our unsheltered neighbors find employment, obtain reliable transportation, connect with shelter and community resources, and move forward into a new life off the streets.

We don’t just want to help people survive homelessness. We want to help them find a pathway out of it. A bicycle may seem like a simple gift, but to someone rebuilding their life, it can represent a job, independence, dignity, and a fresh start.

God Is Faithful ❤️

HUGS Street Ministry is excited and grateful to announce that we have received a grant from the City of Norman! 🙏

Because of this support, we are now able to help individuals with transportation needs that can make a life-changing difference—including bus tickets to reunite with family and travel assistance to rehabilitation centers.

We are so thankful that HUGS could be a small part of Natalie’s journey toward healing and a new beginning. ❤️

We’re looking forward to the day she returns and hearing her testimony of what God has done in her life.

This is what happens when our community comes together to provide a helping hand, a way forward, and a little hope.

This Saturday, August 22, at The Share Center, 201 Reed Ave, Norman, 10am to 2. We’ll be providing showers, hygiene bags, clean clothes, undergarments, water, hydration packets, cold lemonade, and lots of love and compassion.

Join us!

Please join the City of Norman for a public open house on August 18, 2026, trom 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Quest Church, 6450 36th Ave. NW in Norman, OK.

This is a come and go event where you can learn more about the 36t Ave. NW / Telephone Rd. Reconstruction Project. Multiple renderings will be on display and individuals will be able to submit questions.

This is open to everyone.
