English Version:
My recent trip to Vietnam went smoothly. I left Oklahoma on 11 May 2016 and I returned back home safely on 25 May 2016 as planned. After 28 hours departed Oklahoma, I arrived to Saigon around 4 pm on 12 May 2016. I was warmly welcomed by the Dominican Sisters of St Vincent at the Tan Son Nhat Airport. During my 13-day stay in Vietnam, I visited Cu Chi (25 miles from Saigon), then Lang Son D**g Dang Parish (about 70 miles from Noi Bai Airport, 3-hr driving), That Khe (40 miles from Lang Son, 3-hr driving on mountainous road). Next was Pleiku via flying, then Gia-Lai, the Red Clay region (4 days). After that, I came back to Saigon and visited Cu Chi the second time. The three Loving Houses were situated at three locations:
Rose Loving House – Located at Cu Chi
St Vincent Loving House – Located at That Khe
My Linh Loving House – Located at Gia Lai
I did activities with the children and presented the donation (money) from the organization to the three houses. When I visited My Linh House at Gia-Lai, I had the opportunity to visit the local minority natives there at the Ban and Xun Villages. The local natives were very poor and their living conditions very primitive and pitiful. Even though they were poor, they were simple, un-pretentious, and hospitable people. I gave a small donation of $5 to each family but they were very grateful. After this tour, I realized that our charity should get involve and help the poor in addition to helping the orphanages or the Loving Houses. Also, on my visit to My Linh House at Gia-Lai, I had the honor of meeting Father Phuong Nguyen, Spiritual Leader of the Phanxico Charity Organization. Father Phuong replaced Father Hoang, the previous spiritual leader. For those of you who haven’t heard, Phanxico Charity Organization is a Vietnamese charity organization and probably is the largest charity organization in the US. Phanxico Charity Organization has widespread outreach worldwide to help the disabled Vietnamese orphans, the poor, those affected by disasters, and other charity events.
Through my contact with Father Phuong, we can join Phanxico Charity Organization in their future charity efforts either as individual or as Love and Hope Inc. member.
I will provide details of the donations and gifts during this trip in our next financial report to the contributors and the members. We sincerely thank all the generous donors and members of our organization for your support and for placing your trust in me to carry out this important responsibility.
Respectfully Yours,
Chuong Nguyen
