Thank you to America's ToothFairy and MGE: Management Experts, Inc. for providing North Alabama AHEC with a wonderful oral health resource kit! 🦷

The kit included toothbrushes, dental-themed activity booklets, cards with oral health tips for caregivers, and bookmarks with helpful tips for children.

Our Community Health Workers have been distributing these resources at the health fairs we’ve participated in throughout the year across the counties we serve in North Alabama. We appreciate the opportunity to provide families with fun and helpful resources that encourage good oral health habits! 🪥❤️

Thank you, America’s ToothFairy and MGE, for helping us promote better oral health in our communities!

Another informative session at the The ELM Foundation’s monthly Community Connections meeting! Three wonderful organizations shared about their youth mentoring programs and the incredible services they’re providing in our communities.

All three organizations could use more volunteers to mentor youth, and my biggest takeaways were:
• You don’t have to have a special skill set.
• It’s not about you—it’s about being there for the young person.
• It doesn’t take a lot of time—just a few hours a month.
• Most importantly, it’s about just consistently showing up and being there for the youth.

If you’re interested in volunteering as a mentor, I encourage you to check out these three organizations. All three are doing wonderful work and would be worthy of your time!
