Good Monday morning,

We missed yesterday, as it was the start of Black History Month. This month we will be highlighting some prominent Black figures and leaders in history.

Today, we will start off with none other than our founder, Prince Hall (1738-1807), Prince Hall and 14 other free black men petitioned to join an all-white lodge known as Boston St. John’s lodge, but were denied admittance. On March 6, 1775, they were initiated into lodge No. 441 under the Grand Lodge of Ireland. Later, they founded African Lodge No. 1, later renamed African lodge No. 459, and he was named Grand Master.

So Mote It Be.
