Sometimes, you have to lose yourself to find your purpose.

These last few months have been such a whirlwind as graduation season approaches. Reflecting on my academic journey, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the challenges that shaped me, the lessons that molded me, and the growth that transformed me.

Every late night, every doubt, and every step outside my comfort zone brought me closer to this moment. This journey has been more than academic; it’s been personal, meaningful, and life-changing.

Now, as I prepare to walk across that stage, I’m filled with excitement for what’s next. The future holds endless possibilities, and I can’t wait to embrace every opportunity that comes my way.

Here’s to discovering purpose, pursuing passion, and stepping boldly into the next chapter! 💫

🌄 The top of one mountain is just the bottom of another.

Have you ever stopped to realize that you’re living the life you imagined for yourself five years ago? Every decision, every action, has brought you to this very moment. So, why wait for a new year when we’re granted new opportunities every day?

If we can’t effectively manage the 24 hours in front of us, how can we expect to manage 365 days?

Time to reflect, refocus, and take ownership of the moments we often overlook. Let’s make each day count. 💼✨

🔑 Dress for the position you want, not the one you have.

It’s not just a saying—it’s a strategy. Every time you step into a room, you have the opportunity to show up as the person you're striving to be. Most people remember me because of something I wore—like a signature hat—or something I said. Why? Because I make it a point to look the part and amplify my voice.

The way you present yourself matters. It can communicate confidence, ambition, and readiness for the next level. So, whether it's in the boardroom or a networking event, dress for the future version of yourself and let your presence speak volumes.

🎯 Look the part. Speak up. Be unforgettable.

This weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to spend time with the seniors at Drake. It was a heartfelt reminder of the importance of giving our time and energy to those who are often overlooked and undervalued.

We shared stories, prayed together, and laughed until our sides hurt. It’s in these moments that we realize how much we can learn from their wisdom and experiences.

I believe it’s essential to approach these visits with full hearts and hands, bringing not just our presence but also compassion and love. Every smile we exchanged, every shared moment, reinforced the idea that our connections matter deeply.

Let’s continue to uplift those who have so much to offer and make sure they know they are seen and cherished. It’s the simple act of being present that can make a world of difference.

Learning and Leading.

Yesterday from 9:30 am to 12 pm, I had the honor alongside Jack Clem (VP of Events) and Claire Congo (VP of Campus Relations) to discuss The Campus Kitchen at Auburn University and host two sessions for Dr. Miriam Wyman's Sustainability Class. I am so thankful for the opportunity to engage students from a wide range of disciplines about the barriers to better, such as food insecurity, transportation, health, and wellness.

After a game of Kahoots, we were immersed in some in-service learning, where we packaged 100 meals for our Meals on Wheels Program, a senior meal program. I think we have some future shift and exec leaders on our hands.

Fork Hunger! 🙏🏾🥰🍴

Great session today with Auburn University Communications and Marketing Team with the Auburn Amplifiers. My favorite part was definitely the last session, RHB did a great job at engaging and creating meaningful dialogue from start to finish.

There are seven types of rest we need to take. I believe in today's time, it is important to have spiritual rest, social rest, and mental rest. We are been bombarded with sensory overload, whether your phone alerts you of an incoming text or email or you see the LED light flashing. We need to be more cognizant of the areas we need rest in.

This summer I have been on go mode, almost did not know where the off switch or pause button was. For the next two months I am allowing my mind, soul, and body get the rest it deserves. Sometimes you can expand yourself to others, that you have nothing left for yourself. Rest allows our mind, body, and soul to renew and start with even more strength and focus.

Matthew 11:28-30: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Today, I challenge all of us to factor in periods of rest in our schedules. Remember there is only one of you.

We are in the age of the Great Resignation. In April of this year, 4 million people resigned from their positions. Often times, getting paid well is meaningless if you are overworked and undervalued. I told someone recently, what I got paid the least to do, I enjoyed doing the most.

I believe since the pandemic began last year, there has been a Great Rejuvenation, for people to reflect on their life, purpose, and goals moving forward. If you are not growing where you are going, you must go.
