Read Aloud Norfolk participated in the Preschool Springtacular held at the Little Panthers Preschool on Monday, April 13th. We used the opportunity to put a few more books into the hands of children and promote local participation in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library!

Read Aloud Norfolk recently surpassed a milestone in February 2026. After 50 months, we’ve been able to provide 33,323 books to Norfolk children as the local “champion” for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. We could not have done it without the support of The Connie Fund, Daycos4Good, the Norfolk Area United Way and the Norfolk Public Library Foundation!

Read Aloud Norfolk presented the Children’s Day Festival at the Lifelong Learning Center on Sunday, February 8th. Twenty-two clubs, businesses and organizations came together for free, family fun…all “For the Love of Reading”!

As the local champion, Read Aloud Norfolk is happy to report that we’ve hit another milestone with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library here in Norfolk, Nebraska. December 2025 will mark 48 monthes (4 years) of the program thanks to our generous supporters in the community. A record 798 books are being shipped to Norfolk children in December. This brings our total to over 31,000 books during the course of four years. A special shoutout to The Connie Fund for helping us get this off the ground as well as Daycos4Good, the Norfolk Area United Way and the Norfolk Public Library Foundation for helping us sustain it!

Read Aloud Norfolk promotes healthy, successful children and families through reading aloud. We do this by helping educate people about the importance of reading aloud to children and providing resources (I.e. 📚) to help make this happen. We also look for opportunities such as the above to collaborate with Norfolk schools and other groups that share our mission!

Read Aloud Norfolk initiated the program nearly four years ago and has made it possible, with the help of local sponsors, for over 30,000 books to go to homes of local children so far!

As Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library celebrates 30 years of helping provide 300 million books to children, Read Aloud Norfolk nears its 4th year of participating in the program with over 30,000 books having been given to local children. The books pictured are but a few of the titles mailed directly to Norfolk children each and every month. Thanks to those who support our efforts to make this happen!

Read Aloud Norfolk donated $1,000 on Thursday, September 11th, in support of efforts to expand the Little Panthers Preschool lending library project. The intent is to buy more 📚 so more children can bring them home to read with their families.
