The Zone Afterschool Program

The Zone Afterschool Program The Zone is an after school program that is completely free for youth in 7th - 12th grade to attend.

The Zone provides a safe space for youth to experience positive one-on-one mentoring, help with homework, and various recreational activities.

🏷️ Free Will Donation Drop-Off – Available Anytime!

🔧 Donate cans, copper, or aluminum at Alter Metal Recycling. Just stop by the warehouse during business hours and use our donation bin.

🚫 No electronics or propane tanks
✅ METAL ONLY

Today our students had the opportunity to give back by helping at the Norfolk Rescue Mission. We packed up their clothing room, and they were generous enough to feed us BBQ ribs afterward.

We are thankful for the chance to serve our community, and they were definitely thankful for 15 extra sets of hands!

Proud of our students for showing up, working hard, and being part of something bigger than themselves. 💙

Good evening, Zone families!

We are so excited for tomorrow—our first day of summer programming—and can’t wait to see everyone!

I am currently finalizing pick-up and drop-off routes. If you have not completed your annual registration or I do not have your home address on file, please send me a private message with your address so we can include you in the transportation schedule.

There will also be group pick-up locations available for those needing rides. I am finalizing those now and will send out the locations later this evening.

For those who will be walking or getting a ride from a parent/guardian, we will meet at the Y at 10:00 AM just inside the lobby. This will also serve as our daily pick-up and drop-off location for students not receiving transportation.

If you need to reach us, please call or text 402-402-8856. Texting is the quickest way to get a response.

🌞 Summer pantry: stocked and ready 🥨🍪🧃

A big thank you to Premier Community Outreach for their generous $500 donation to The Zone’s Food Program! Their support helped us stock our pantry and prepare to keep serving snacks and daily meals throughout summer programming.

We’re so grateful to have community partners like Premier Community Outreach who continue to show up for local youth and help make The Zone feel like home for so many teens each day 💙
