Sunflower of Peace

Sunflower of Peace Sunflower of Peace is a 501(c)(3) non-profit (EIN: 47-2620675), based in Boston, MA. Join our life-saving mission, efforts, and movement.

Sunflower of Peace was established in 2014 with the purpose of helping people who were affected by Russia-fueled violence in Ukraine. With time and growth, we also began providing help to orphans, the internally displaced, and, in the recent years, contributed to COVID-19 relief efforts in Ukraine. Through generosity of our donors and support of our community, Sunflower of Peace provided hundreds

of medical workers in Ukraine with critical equipment and tools during the times of scarcity, built playgrounds for orphanages in Kherson and a children's oncology center in Kyiv, provided aid to organizations serving adults with disabilities. Sunflower of Peace also facilitated educational exchange opportunities for Ukraine's talented geneticists and oncologists, who, together with the Boston scientists, secured proper diagnostics and treatment equipment for Ukraine. Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022 became a mobilization call for Sunflower of Peace and our global community of supporters. Since that day, we have focused our efforts on providing critical tactical medical aid to the medics working to save lives on the frontlines of the war: we send backpacks filled with carefully curated selection of supplies, equipment to military hospitals, and, when possible, medications. In addition to our flagship medical program, we aim to fill urgent energy and humanitarian needs and assist Ukrainian nonprofit organizations serving women, children, seniors, and adults with disabilities. Our vision is Ukraine as a free, independent, democratic, and peaceful society where all people can thrive. Once Ukraine secures its victory, we will continue to work toward this beautiful ideal. Take action in support of Ukraine and a more peaceful globe. Yours,
Sunflower of Peace

In 2026, civilian casualties in Ukraine are up 21% from last year — which was already 31% deadlier than the year before. And the people who need help most are often the ones who can’t leave.

Frontline medics are still treating the wounded under impossible conditions. Elderly and mobility-limited residents in villages near the front line are living without reliable heat or running water. Children are still going to school in cities under fire.

This year, we delivered 25,593 critical aid items worth $247,420 — medical supplies for medics on the front line, sleeping bags and gas burners for warmth, and school supplies for kids in war zones.

The need doesn’t stop when the news does. Neither do we.

Sunflower of Peace delivered 100 SICH tourniquets to the medical unit of the “Kraken 1654” Unmanned Systems Regiment.

These high-quality, Ukrainian-made tourniquets are widely regarded by frontline medics as exceptionally durable and reliable tools, even in extreme filth and harsh conditions. In the hands of the Kraken unit, they are going to save many lives.

We are deeply grateful for your continued support, which makes these deliveries possible.

Glory to the Heroes! 🇺🇦

This past winter, we delivered 10,380 hand and foot warmers to Ukrainian medics on the frontlines.

Cold is not just discomfort in war, it slows response, reduces dexterity, and puts both medics and patients at risk.

Among all the aid we send, items like these are critically important. And as the seasons change, the challenges do not stop.

With warmer weather comes a new reality on the frontlines — the season of insects. Swarms of bugs affect concentration, hygiene, and overall conditions for medics working in the field.

That’s why we are now starting deliveries of bug sprays and treatments Donate today to get life-saving protection to medics on the frontlines.

Sunflower of Peace is known for the medical backpacks we send to combat medics on the frontlines.

This time, we’re sending a different kind of backpacks — children’s backpacks.

Three 8th grade students from California collected and donated 13 backpacks filled with school supplies. We chose to help Kindergarten #136 in Kharkiv, which was severely damaged in a missile attack in 2022. Today, 31 children continue their education online and meet once a week in an underground public school. We are raising funds so each child receives a backpack filled with supplies.

Read the full story, see how many backpacks have already been sponsored, and help us make sure every one of these 31 children receives one. Visit our campaign page.

Thank you for standing with Ukraine — and with its children.

Sunflower of Peace is known for our medical backpacks filled with tourniquets, bandages, and life-saving supplies, carried by combat medics on the frontlines.

You may never see the lives you save — but they feel it. Here’s a message from a brave medic on the frontlines after receiving oxygen cylinders:

«Love is not only about flowers and words.

Love is when someone brings oxygen —
when help arrives at the exact moment someone’s breath depends on it.
Someone’s heart.
Someone’s life.

Thank you to Sunflower of Peace and Iryna Malakhova for the oxygen cylinders.
For support that comes right on time.
For giving a chance — when that chance means everything.

Sometimes love isn’t measured in Valentine’s cards,
but in liters of oxygen.

And today I want to say:
you stand for life.
You show what it truly means to be there for others.
You show real love for people.

Thank you 💙💛»
