Altrusa International of Yaquina Bay, Inc. Meetings: 1st Wednesday monthly (Noon) at Newport Public Library. We are a group of community minded citizens.

Altrusa International of Yaquina Bay is dedicated to improving the lives of women and children in Lincoln County through literacy, social and health services, and educational opportunities. We recognize and remedy community needs such as clothing, medicine, dental care for kids and literacy in our local schools. Our club donates to Newport, Toledo, Siletz and Waldport schools, as well as Lincoln County women and children. Money is raised by hands on projects and money donations.

Another Healthy Moms prenatal education class series has finished up. We had record enrollment of moms and dads! Twelve graduation bags were given out at the baby shower. Altrusa helped fill all the bags with baby care items. Thanks to the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund and Lincoln County Public Health for their support ❤️

We are proud to help make Lincoln County a welcoming community for our immigrant neighbors. Thanks to the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund for supporting our purchase of emergency hygiene supplies and diapers for Arociris Cultural in Newport. Needy families can safely pick up items such as soap and toothpaste at this amazing nonprofit organization.

Altrusa is all about connecting with diverse children in our community and encouraging reading for fun. We had a blast at Dia de Los Libros at the Newport public library. We helped each child pick a book to take home and create their own bookmark. Kids from two to teen all enjoyed this creative activity. Thanks to the Siletz Tribe Charitable Contribution Fund for helping us purchase books. If you would like to help promote literacy in Lincoln County, join us at our next meeting at noon on May 6th in the library conference room.

Last night was the graduation baby shower for the parents enrolled in the winter Healthy Moms prenatal education classes in Newport. Altrusa made the baby care gift bags special, including bibs, books, baby clothes, hygiene items, and handmade blankets and hats.
