Well folks, replacing a shower takes time! We have to completely replace our shower so we can continue providing this service safely and hopefully prevent future damage from happening again.
Unfortunately, our shower services will be unavailable for approximately 4–6 weeks while the new shower is being installed.
During this time, we will be offering one shower pass per person, per week to help meet this need while our shower is out of service.
We know this service is important to many of our guests, and we appreciate your patience, understanding, and grace as we work through this unexpected setback. Our community is making this a top priority, and we look forward to having our showers back up and running as soon as possible.

A courteous reminder for all clothing donations : kindly ensure all clothing items are clean and free of stains or tears, as our facilities are currently unable to accommodate laundry due to limited washer capacity.

Reminder we are now closed every Sunday and Monday. We open our first day up tomorrow for our full time hours at 7am.

With full hearts (and honestly a little fear too), we are excited to announce that starting June 2nd, 2026, Agape Respite Center will officially be expanding to FULL-TIME HOURS.
Our new hours will be:
Tuesday – Saturday
7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

This is something we have prayed over, worked toward, cried over, and dreamed about for a long time. To some, these may just look like extended hours… but to us and the people we serve, this means more safety, more support, more stability, more meals, more resources, more connection, and more hope for our community.

We could not have gotten here without our incredible community partners, donors, churches, volunteers, staff, and every single person who believed in what Agape could become. You all helped build this with us.

Truthfully, we are scared.
Because we know this growth also means the need will grow bigger.
But we are also incredibly excited.
Excited to continue showing up.
Excited to expand support.
Excited to love our community deeper.
Excited to keep proving what can happen when a community comes together instead of looking away.

As we step into this next chapter, we ask our community to continue standing beside us. Your support, prayers, donations, encouragement, and partnerships matter more now than ever before.

We are so sad to announce that our showers are temporarily down. Unfortunately, the shower bottom broke today near the drain and we will need to bring in a contractor for repairs.
Getting our showers back up and running is a top priority for us, as we know how important this resource is for so many in our community. If you know of a trusted contractor who is liscensed and bonded who may be willing to provide an estimate or help us get this repaired quickly, please reach out to us.

Just a reminder that we are closed for all holidays, which means we are closed today in honor of Memorial Day 🇺🇸
We also wanted to remind everyone that starting June 2nd our new business hours will be:
Tuesday–Saturday
7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
This does mean we will no longer be open on Mondays, but we are incredibly excited to be able to offer longer hours and more support to our community throughout the week. Thank you all for continuing to grow with us and support what Agape is doing 🫶

We want to take a moment to give a HUGE and heartfelt thank you to the incredible Oregon Coast Community College Nursing Students 💙
For nearly THREE YEARS, this amazing team has shown up consistently pouring their time, energy, and compassion into fundraising and supporting Agape Respite Center. Your dedication has not gone unnoticed, and the impact you’ve made in our community is truly meaningful.
This year’s turnout and support alongside our Agape staff was nothing short of amazing. Because of you, we are able to continue showing up for those we serve every single day.

✨Thankful Thursday✨

Some days in this work you carry the weight so quietly that people don't always see it. The responsibility of keeping the doors open, making sure people are fed, making sure someone has a place to shower, do laundry, get resources, or just be treated with dignity. It's beautiful work, but it can feel heavy.

And then something happens that reminds you God is moving through people in this community.
Today we want to honor Newport Christian Church.
Out of their abundance, from our back rent from July 2025 and continuing it through to April 2026, this incredible church committed to covering $2,520 every month for our rent at Agape Respite Center, and they also stepped in to cover our water bill for an entire year.
I don't know how to fully put into words what that means to us.

When I sat down to write this post I honestly got chills, and I have tears in my eyes. Because this kind of generosity is more than financial help - it's someone saying "We see the work you're doing, and we believe in it."

Agape serves dozens of people every single day who are trying to survive some of the hardest moments of their lives. And knowing that a church in our own community is standing beside us like this... it lifts a burden in a way we can't even describe.

To Newport Christian Church - thank you for seeing the need and stepping in with such compassion and faith. Your generosity allows us to keep showing up for people who need hope, dignity, and support.

Scripture reminds us that the treasures we store up in heaven come from acts of love like this. And I truly believe the impact of what you've done will echo far beyond what any of us can see right now.

Last week, we had an exceptional experience with the Siletz Tribe's harm reduction team. While we served chorizo taquitos with rice and beans, they actively conducted testing and raffled off gifts, culminating in an outstanding Narcan training session. We served up to 62 individuals, with 30 undergoing testing. We were deeply grateful for the tribe's dedication and partnership, which enabled this event. Thank you, ladies, for organizing an extraordinary event to help save lives in our community and instructing us on Narcan use. We eagerly anticipate future events. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts 💞
