Hi everyone ~

I am sorry to say that, as of May 27th, 2025, Olalla Center will cease all operations.

Project Bravery, a grant-funded program of Olalla Center, was going to come to an end on June 30, 2025, due to lack of further funding; however, with the cessation of all operations at Olalla comes the cessation of operations for Project Bravery, as well.

Without my position at Olalla Center, i must withdraw my participation on several advisory committees; i am hoping to possibly regain those spots as a board member of Newport Oregon Pride and/or OCCPFLAG.

If there is anything i can help with through either of those organizations, please let me know. I remain a committed ally of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. You may contact me at [email protected] or [email protected].

Also, i continue to live in the area, so i am available personally as a resource, a support, an organizer, a volunteer…this is where i live, and i want to help keep it a wonderful place to live for everyone.

Thank you for your friendship, support, collegiality, laughter, and your commitment to others in our community. I have the utmost respect for you!

Happy MAY, everyone! It's been beautiful so far!

Reminder that the Loyalty Days Parade is on Saturday, also, which will make it hard to get to White Rabbit from the north. You may need to figure out an alternate route.

I have it easier coming from the south, but i hope to see you there for great coffee and people!

I'm sure everyone is aware that Oregon's U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley and Oregon's 4th District U.S. Congressperson Val Hoyle are holding a Town Hall Meeting at Oregon Coast Community College's Newport Campus on Saturday, February 1, at 12pm. I will be unable to attend, unfortunately (unless it is live streamed or recorded), but at least one member each from Oregon Central Coast PFLAG and Newport Oregon Pride will be there to ask about q***r and trans rights being upheld in our state. I encourage others to attend: this is a great opportunity to find out directly from our federal elected officials what is being done to keep Oregon a safe home for all people, to maintain the rights earned by all people, and what we can do to ensure that.

If you have the time, please caffeinate at White Rabbit Espresso & Coffee House before the meeting!

King tides viewing is a little earlier this month! I hope it's another great weekend for them.

As of Tuesday, 1/7, the forecasted conditions are cloudy, possibly rainy on Sunday, with light winds.

Instead of 11:30am, it'll start at 1:00pm.

It's in the same area -- Nelscott -- but just south of where it's been. It is across SW 35th St. from Christmas Cottage and across Highway 101 from Robert's Bookshop and Theatre West.
