Proclaiming April 30, 2025 as "NATIONAL THERAPY ANIMAL DAY" in Lincoln County.

🐕 During their regular meeting today, Lincoln County Commissioners proclaimed April 30, 2025, "National Therapy Animal Day" in Lincoln County. 🐾

They were very lucky to have some special guests from Pet Partners of the Oregon Coast for the occasion! 🐶

April 30 is National Therapy Animal Day! This is a special day to celebrate our furry and feathered friends and their human companions who bring comfort and healing to those in need.

We're thrilled to share a special accomplishment from one of our Pet Partner volunteers!
Susanne Severed, a dedicated Pet Partners therapy animal handler, has written a heartwarming book inspired by her experiences with her therapy dog, Bear.
Bear: A True Storey - How A Big Yellow Dog Nobody Wanted Helped Kids Learn to Read follows the journey of a senior rescue dog as he volunteers in Flagstaff, Arizona in a Lifeskills classroom with middle school students who have intellectural and physical disabilities.
Susanne hopes to share Bear's story widely to inspire others and make a difference. She is working to get the book into schools, libraries, and animals shelters, and plans to donate a portion of sales to related causes.
