This handsome boy is happiest at home!

Dot began his journey at CHS in March, when an overwhelmed caregiver came in and felt that this handsome boy would thrive in a loving new home. He received a wonderful evaluation and neuter surgery from the medical team and was cleared for adoption.

With a sweet face like his, it was only a matter of time before his loving humans came to the pet resource center in Wilton looking for a loving companion. The minute they locked eyes with Dot, it was love at first purr.

He was so happy to go home with them and enjoy their company. His family has lovingly renamed him Mushu and shared these purr-fect photos of his incredible fresh start.

He spends his time hanging out with his fur brother and cuddling every chance he can get. Congratulations, Mushu and family, on a lifetime of unconditional love.

A sweet home for a sweet girl! 💜

Earlier this month, six-month-old French Bulldog Kali was brought to CHS when her previous family had faced a lifestyle change and wanted her to enjoy a bright new beginning. They knew that the awesome team at the CHS pet resource center in Newington would be able to provide her with the loving home she needed.

After a successful evaluation with the behavior team and a spay surgery, she was cleared for adoption. With her adorable personality, it was not long before she was adopted.

Kali and her fur mom posed for an adorable first family together before going home to her incredible new life. She now spends her days lounging with her family and enjoying peaceful walks in the nice weather.

Congratulations, Kali and Family!

On a warm day in September of 2025, a handsome black and white senior kitty had been secretly living on a property in Quaker Hill. A purr-fect human discovered him and provided him with their barn for temporary shelter, while giving him love, affection, and plenty of meals.

They knew that the best option for ten-year-old Miller to receive the extensive care he needed was to bring him to the CHS pet resource center in Waterford. When he arrived, he was in need of dental work for a broken tooth and had some swelling on his hind leg.

The medical team provided Miller with the dental care he needed and prescribed medication to reduce the swelling in his leg. He was healing well and was cleared for adoption. Miller spent almost six months in CHS care before his loving family arrived looking for a sweet boy to snuggle with.

The day he was adopted was one of the happiest of Miller's life, and it became a core memory. He was purring as he posed for his very first family photo before going home to relax in the loving arms of his humans.

Congratulations, Miller and family, on an exciting new adventure filled with magical moments!

A Special CHS Adoption! ❤️

An adorable three-year-old guinea pig made her debut at the pet resource center in Newington in February. Her family had faced a lifestyle change, and loved her deeply. They made the tough decision to give her a brighter future filled with love.

Mama Wellington received proper medical care for a mass that was found, and she was spayed by the incredible medical team. She was then cleared for adoption. As the days passed, she patiently waited for a loving human to come in to meet her. Little did she know that the loving human who would adopt her had seen her and cared for her every single day since her arrival.

Newington Assistant Shelter Manager Sara knew that Mama Wellington was the perfect companion for her. She had to bring her home to CHS alums Jam, Bodhi, and Marshall. Both the guinea pig and the human were thrilled to pose for their adoption photo.

Today, Mama Wellington lives in the lap of luxury. She receives the freshest veggies every single day and spends time with her guinea pig companion, Guillermo, in a large and comfortable enclosure with plenty of space to explore.

Congratulations to Sara, Mama Wellington, and family on a lifetime of rich adventures!
