From our inception in 1881, the Connecticut Humane Society has remained at the forefront of charitable service to the state of Connecticut, enriching the lives of the citizens and animals of our great state. With the powerful human-animal bond at the heart of our work, our organization continues to evolve and expand to serve the needs of our society and to plan for the future. The Connecticut Humane Society offers reduced-fee veterinary services for owned pets through its pet resource centers in Newington and Wilton. The Connecticut Humane Society's services include: pet adoptions, pet surrender, dog training classes, humane education, services for senior citizens, and volunteer opportunities. Clinic services include: vaccination clinics, low-cost spay/neuter services, preventative wellness care, special assistance program.

A big thank you to Senator Richard Blumenthal, who visited CHS yesterday to announce the Puppy Protection Act. This federal legislation would create stronger standards for commercial breeders, requiring larger enclosures, unrestricted access to exercise and socialization, and more routine veterinary care for dogs!

A purr-fect day filled with kindness! 🐱💗

A huge thank you to Chittenden Group for spending Friday, September 18, making cozy no-sew cat beds for kitties! They generously donated fleece, food, and other items for the pets!

She's home, and her tail hasn’t stopped wagging! 🩷

In early September, a sweet and energetic one-year-old black-and-white beagle mix arrived at the pet resource center in Newington from a partner shelter.

She was always ready for an exciting adventure, whether that was hiking on the trails or playing in the play yard. FroZone had plenty of energy and was working with the behavior team on her manners so she could be the best pup she could be.

The CHS team worked with FroZone every day, providing her with long walks, interactive playtime, and training sessions before clearing her for adoption.

Once she was cleared for adoption, her energetic personality and adorable face captured the attention of a young girl and her family who came into the adoption lobby seeking a loving companion. They quickly discovered that FroZone was the companion for them.

Today, FroZone spends her days going on walks, playing with her human sister, and posing for plenty of pictures. She couldn't be happier! Congratulations to FroZone and family on a lifetime of unconditional love and adventures!
